“the first time i saw my wife, she looked like a little rabbit caught in the rain.”
okay mr yu "i love my wife my wife is everything my wife is literally the best" changxuan
there are two older the lament of autumn povs i haven’t posted yet. this first one, posted on premiere day, is about yuchangxuan meeting yepingjun for the first time. it mixes first and third person and seems to be written from his future perspective, since he already refers to her as his wife 🥹 the full entry:
“the first time i saw my wife, she looked like a little rabbit caught in the rain.”
it was a rainy night.
ye pingjun was absorbed in picking up the silver dollars scattered across the ground, completely unaware that she had inadvertently blocked the road. nor did she notice that someone from the car had quietly approached her.
yu changxuan stood there, studying the girl crouched on the ground. she wore a simple student uniform, her slender figure looking so delicate that it stirred an instinctive tenderness in him.
raindrops nestled in her hair like pearls scattered across silk, while a jade hairpin rested at the back of her head, resembling a flower just about to bloom.
a silver dollar came to rest at the tip of his shoe.
for reasons he couldn’t explain, yu changxuan found himself bending down to pick it up. holding the coin between his fingers, he extended it toward her.
as the illustrious fifth young master of the yu family of nanhuai, even his smallest gestures carried the arrogance of a man accustomed to standing above others.
ye pingjun raised her head.
in that instant, the pearls slipped from the silk and disappeared into the muddy ground.
her face was fair and unadorned, beautiful as a lotus emerging from clear water.
the moment their fingertips brushed, the entire world seemed to shrink to the small space beneath the umbrella.
the rain suddenly seemed to grow heavier, its torrential force crashing straight into his heart.
the girl thanked him softly before turning to leave, leaving him with nothing but the sight of her retreating figure.
a jade hairpin fell onto the rain-soaked ground, yet not a speck of dirt seemed to stain it.
just like her.
for the second time that night, the fifth young master of the yu family, a man who had always held himself above others, bent down.
he picked up the jade hairpin.
his fingers gently caressed its delicate surface as he lowered his gaze. the faint curve of his lips made it impossible to tell whether he was smiling in amusement or quietly savoring the memory of that fleeting encounter.
the rain continued to fall.
in the years that followed, yu changxuan would find himself thinking back to that rainy night countless times.
their meeting had been as beautiful as a passage from a poet’s pen.
so how had they ended up like this?
** at first i didn’t post this one because it was written in third person, and at the time i thought it was just the team writing a long, pretty caption for their post lol it was only after they started writing them more like diary entries that i realized what they were doing.
a day after this first pov, they posted a second one about yuchangxuan starting to notice his feelings for yepingjun. back then he wasn’t sure what those feelings were, he just knew there was something different… i’ll post this second one later too!
What i like about Changxuan is that he is a morally grey character w/out much empathy at first & treat everything like a game but he has changed to be more humane after meeting Pingjun, like you cant say he's a truly good person but he no longer a bad person. #TheLamentOfAutumn

يعني عشان ما يحس بالذنب خلوه يحس بالنبذ
Why all this is diabolical painful is bcs YCX lived like he was unloved & didn't matter to anyone in grand scheme of things which made him bitter & hungry to prove himself but in reality he was always loved just the misunderstandings destroyed everything
