🇺🇦Gratitude from @ZelenskyyUa and @U24_gov_ua to the KUNA community
Thanks to crypto-donations, the foundation was able to collect funds in the first days of the war and use them as quickly as possible to purchase the necessary equipment for the defenders of Ukraine💪

1/17 I hope this'll put an end to the crazy accusations around Ukrainian crypto fundraising & FTX. Thanks @MattBinder for the great talk & going deep into details! Here’s the link to @mashable recap, and I’ll discuss some of the key points in the thread.

1/5 Ukrainians are so amazing that a crypto foundation managed to raise $60m and invest $20b of them in the Democratic Party. This would have been funny had it not actually been yet another propagandist hysteria that so many people still believe for some reason.

There is a lot of conspiracy around Aid For Ukraine Fund and FTX. We used FTX in the first month of the war as an off ramp to fiat in cases when we need fiat. No crypto was stored on the FTX. You can double check in chainanalysis. Remember, not your keys, not your crypto ✌️

1/6 Certain Twitter users, including fake accounts of US congressmen and biased media outlets, have disseminated rumors that hundreds of millions of USD donated to Ukraine were illegally transferred to the US Democratic Party through @FTX_Official.
11/11 “This time, they decided to use the FTX collapse to spin yet another tale about money laundering. It's obvious that Western support of 🇺🇦 hurts russia as it leads to its losses on the battlefield. We know for a fact that every donation was spent for the benefit of Ukraine.”
10/11 Today, @everstake_pool CEO and co-initiator of @_AidForUkraine @sergattic stated: “Every time russia is defeated on the battlefield, it starts looking for another way to cover up its military failures in the media by spreading fake news based on made-up assumptions.”
9/11 The funds are not stored on @FTX_Official and can be converted into fiat elsewhere if necessary.
8/11 The ongoing FTX crisis does not affect the operation of Aid For Ukraine. Out of $60 million received, $54 million have already been spent on Ukraine’s humanitarian and military needs. The report’s available on Aid For Ukraine’s official website.

7/11 Here is a tweet from Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine @abornyakov refuting those rumors:

A fundraising crypto foundation @_AidForUkraine used @FTX_Official to convert crypto donations into fiat in March. Ukraine's gov never invested any funds into FTX. The whole narrative that Ukraine allegedly invested in FTX, who donated money to Democrats is nonsense, frankly 🤦♂️
6/11 This information does not correspond with reality, as Aid For Ukraine has used FTX only a few times exclusively to convert crypto donations into fiat in early March 2022. The National Bank of Ukraine has confirmed the receipt of all donations:

Replying to @NBUkraine
The @_AidForUkraine intitative has raised USD 1,455,965 so far, of which USD 1,000,000 has already been transferred to the NBU’s special account. The fundraising is underway. Be one of those many people who care! 🇺🇦
5/11 Certain Twitter users, including fake accounts of US congressmen and biased media outlets, have disseminated rumors that hundreds of millions of USD donated to Ukraine were illegally transferred to the US Democratic Party.
4/11 Shortly afterward, the FTT exchange rate plummeted, causing a liquidity crisis at the exchange and subsequent impairment of FTX’s market value. Those events threw the crypto market into a crisis, driving cryptocurrency prices downward.
3/11 The $60m raised by the initiative went on to support the Armed Forces of 🇺🇦 & relieve the humanitarian crisis associated with the russian invasion. But recently FTX filed for bankruptcy after it transpired that its subsidiary Alameda Research had a lot of FTT on its balance.
2/11 Back in March, @everstake_pool and crypto exchanges @KunaExchange and @FTX_Official launched @_AidForUkraine to raise crypto donations. The initiative was supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
1/11 russian propaganda uses the @FTX_Official crisis to obstruct Ukrainian crypto fundraising. Please read our official statement in the thread.
