Thank you @CBSDetroit for inviting me back to celebrate #NationalReadingMonth!
I had a great time talking with @ShainaHumphries about student literacy and getting the chance to recommend some books to spark that joy of reading.

Hey @instagram and @Meta, it’s been over 48 hours, and I still can’t like posts on Instagram even though my account status says I should have full access. What’s the deal?

Just submitted my 100-word story for the #MicroFictionChallenge100!
My group was assigned to write a romance (genre) that included making tea (action) and the word “turn.”
I took a risk and hope it pays off.
With 59 writers per group, the top 15 to advance to Round 2. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Uploaded my Rd 2 submission for @nycmidnight’s #ShortStoryChallenge2024! By this time for Rd 1, I hadn’t even started writing yet. 🤣
I hope the judges enjoy my 2,000-word romantic comedy (genre) about a getaway (subject) with a bookworm (character).
I look forward to sharing!
My last-minute crime caper that I almost gave up on and didn’t submit earned second place in my group during Round 1 of NYC Midnight’s #shortstorychallenge2024.
What a lesson about just going for it and throwing your hat in the ring no matter what because anything can happen.
2,500 words submitted with 29 minutes to spare!
Capturing my entire story wasn’t possible with the word limit & the fact I started 3.5 hours ago, but I’m decently content.
Not really a crime caper. I’ll probs get DQed, but at least I didn’t give up.
