This thread. I don't even know where to begin here. Setting aside the administrative challenges, int'l experience shows that the tax being proposed would not generate anywhere near the 1.1% of GDP the NDP are claiming. And social housing costs way more than 180K/unit to build.
In case Canadians forgot, we DO actually have a real progressive option (since our two largest parties are right wing). The NDP came out today proposing a wealth tax that would apply to people worth more than $10 million to pay for public grocery options, housing and healthcare.

Here, let me help. When they play in the NHL, they represent their team, not the nation of Russia.
Deplorable post, Danielle. What about all the Russianโ€™s playing in the NHL? Are they banned from playing in Canada? What about the Russians living in Canada? Shameful, divisive leadership.

Hey @CFIB, why is it that you eagerly spend money to lobby the federal government for higher immigration, but have nothing to say on enabling housing or fixing infrastructure delivery that would actually improve our capacity to welcome newcomers? Too many business groups want an easy way out to access cheaper labour, instead of investing in wages and productivity. There is no demonstration that Canadas economy is suffering from labour shortages. bloomberg.com/news/articles/โ€ฆ

Shelving things alphabetically by author is considered woke, I guess.
Iโ€™m at my local Indigo, Bay and Bloor in Toronto. Stephen Harperโ€™s memoir is out today. If he were a Liberal, or even an American Democrat, the staff would have his book on big display at the entrance. I had to look all over for it. Found it on the bottom shelf.

Boundary Commissions have kept Lethbridge as 2 self-contained urban ridings for 50+ years. Having UCP MLAs draw a map that carves Lethbridge into ridings that stretch for hundreds of miles in every direction is as brazen as gerrymandering gets.
The UCP is carving up Lethbridge to cheat to win.
