We have Pawan Khera RT’ing a CCP sponsored journo, protests in Maharashtra, Arunachal & even in Bolsanaro’s defeat they’re highlighting “what he did to environment”
When Bolsonaro was disgracefully invited as Chief Guest for our Republic Day Parade in 2020, several of us in Mumbai held a protest at Churchgate Station against an abandonment of “Indian values” by a government that turned a blind eye to his environmental destruction, his homophobia, his deep links to organised crime.
“Aarey, Amazon, queer ladhai, Modi-Bolsonaro bhai bhai” was the slogan coined at that protest. Today, as the son of one far-right bigot bites the dust in Brazil, much to the relief of so many who were terrorised under his father’s last regime, there is hope reignited for change across the world.
