Corporate profits up 47% since 2020.
Worker wages up 12% in the same period.
Meanwhile groceries up 35%, rent up 40%, utilities up 28%.
Your paycheck grew 12%. Your bills grew 35%.
The math is simple: you're getting poorer every year even when you get a raise.

AMEX WILL FORCE PAY OVER TIME ON EVERY CHARGE CARD - NO OPT OUT
American Express is emailing charge cardholders that starting 2/1/27, Pay Over Time will be permanently turned on.
You won't be able to turn it off.
Charge cards, like the Platinum, Gold, and Green, used to require paying your balance in full every month.
Now Amex will let you carry a balance on some or all of your purchases, and charge interest on it.
What stays the same
- Still no preset spending limit on purchases
- Pay Over Time has its own dollar limit
- Anything above that limit is still due in full
What you should do now
- Set autopay to the FULL statement balance, not the minimum
- Double check autopay before February
- Watch your statements for any interest charges
