For those of you born in 1998 and clinging onto that football dream... don't give up; there is still hope.
One stat I like on the normalisation of Harry Kane's goalscoring: If you only take the England goals Kane has scored since turning 28, he'd still be the top scorer in our history.

Harry Kane is a fantastic footballer, a great role model, and now, the world's best. The professional's professional. In a world of ferocious egos and stroppy has-beens, football needs more Harry Kanes.

...and then they all broke into a rousing rendition of 'God Save The King'. Thank goodness Emma limited replies to this utter BS, thus enabling us to circulate it to even more people.
Tesco supermarket this afternoon. Got chatting to lovely cashier, im guessing in her 60s. Swiftly conversation moved to politics, the total incompetents running this destroyed bum hole of a country. Cupping her hand over her mouth and leaning towards me she said, " there is only one man capable of fixing this, Rupert Lowe." I fully concurred

I’ve watched several videos of Barack Obama’s speech in Michigan, and God, do I miss having a president who can speak in complete sentences and has a vocabulary beyond that of a 12-year-old.

Forget Michael Carrick and all the rest of it. Manchester United, now and for a while, are a consequence of the disgraceful moment in May 2005 that should never have been allowed to occur. Took two decades but the chickens are very much home and roosting

Manchester United's rabble of pathetic, over-entitled players push Carrick towards his place in the club's endless winter. But the chaos that has gripped United is not on him. It's on the Glazers, Ratcliffe, Berrada and Wilcox. dailymail.com/sport/football…

I'm also convinced United lose to Brentford, Bournemouth or Brighton on such a frequent basis that it now feels normal. Their annual crisis is always courtesy of aone of those sides, seemingly

Called a 2-0 United defeat in a prediction competition I'm party to and now regret not going in harder. They really are rancid

No, Thierry Henry did not lobby for more than a points deduction for Manchester City. Kylian Mbappe did not comment on Vinicius Jr’s sending off. Jamie Carragher did not rail against refereeing in Liverpool against City. This is football’s fake quotes factory and the reasons behind a growing problem on social media. 📝 @SebSB 🔗 nyti.ms/4ke2eeL

‘I won’t rest until I’ve sold off all the nation’s utilities and fucked the next three generations’
When Thatcher was Prime Minister, she reportedly slept for 4 hours per night, worked up until 2am and didn’t like going on holidays. Fast forward 30+ years and our current Prime Minister has enough time to do a softball interview on LADbible and appear on Googlebox. Decline.

Burnley 22nd in the Championship, players not responding to coach Nicky Hayen, whacked 4-1 by Lincoln City, so no great surprise that Hayen sacked after 14 games (one win). But… even by football standards the club's curt 26-word dismissal statement is unnecessarily brutal (and naïve) for four reasons... First, it’s classless towards a departing member of staff, however underachieving, so what does that say about the owners’ treatment of people? What message does it send to potential successors? Second, Hayen was the board’s appointment. What does that say about their judgement? Nb: new technical director incoming who should understand football better than chairman Alan Pace. Third, it highlights the mess, not least in recruitment, that Hayen stepped into. Did he have a chance? Relegated squad, sold best players (last two club POTYs Flemming & Esteve + Anthony), is there enough fight in the team? Fourth, highlights the club’s financial problems. Burnley used to be well-run. Board have to make the right appointment, remember Burnley are a football club as well as a business and engage better with increasingly disaffected fans. Burnley fans deserve better than what Pace and ALK Capital are giving them. #twitterclarets

As someone works in human rights, I’ve never seen anything like the Epstein files in my 15-year career Raped Cannibalized Trafficked Filmed Terrorized Tortured Murdered 13, 14, 15 year children ZERO arrests. Not a single girl got justice. THOUSANDS have been arrested for criticising Israel. ZERO have been arrested for raping children. I don't understand how we're not having a global revolution right now.

Genuinely intrigued by this take. Where do people expect us to be? We are fifth in the table, with a wage bill which I estimate to be about 13th in the division based on various sources of salary distribution. I'd take 8th right now!
Why are we serving up these abysmal performances ffs #wba
