1958 PORSCHE 356A 1600 SUPER CABRIOLET  NON ORIGINAL ENGINE (# P605848) 1,582cc (1.6L) Type 616/1 pushrod flat four engine built around 1956 for a Porsche 356  This VIN # 150527 belongs to a 1958 Porsche 356 A (Type T2) Cabriolet.  The 150001–151531 serial sequence was designated specifically for Cabriolet bodies built by Reutter during the 1958 model year. The engine # P-605848, as established, this is a 1955 Porsche 356 A (T1) 1600 Normal engine block. It was manufactured in the late autumn of 1955. The "P" prefix designates a genuine Porsche passenger car engine, and the 60001–60608 serial sequence indicates it was one of the very first batch of 1,582cc engines produced late in 1955 for the debut of the 356 A model year. Engine Specifications: Internal Porsche Type: 616/1 Configuration: Air-cooled flat-4 boxer (Pushrod OHV) Displacement: 1582 cc (1.6 Liters) Bore x Stroke: 82.5 mm x 74 mm Power Output: 60 bhp (DIN) @ 4500 RPM Crankshaft Type: Plain-bearing (Standard "Normal" spec, as opposed to the roller-bearing Supers) Because this number falls exceptionally high in the 1955 range (ending at 60608), your engine case was cast and assembled in late autumn of 1955. This was right at the major transition point when Porsche replaced the old 1500cc pre-A engines with the new 1600cc variant to power the incoming 356 A. Given its high sequence number in that short opening window, it was originally mated to a very early 1955/1956 Porsche 356 A Coupe or Cabriolet. Transmission: The details provided match the precise stampings found on a vintage Porsche 356 Type 716 manual transmission case. In the Porsche 356 community, these markings are used to decode the exact factory configuration, build timeframe, and unique serial identity of your specific transmission unit. The elements on your gearbox case decode as follows: TRANS / 716: Type 716 transmission, which was the fully synchronized 4-speed dual-mount gearbox introduced by Porsche late in the 356 A production run (specifically around late 1958/1959) and carried into early 356 B models. 58: This represents the factory date stamp. Stamped inside a small circle on the casing, these numbers indicate the week and year the transmission case housing was cast. A "58" marker signifies it was manufactured in 1958. BBBC: This is the factory gear ratio code. Porsche used specific letter combinations stamped next to the transmission type to identify the internal gear cluster layout. BBBC means your transmission was built with standard factory ratios: B for 1st gear, B for 2nd gear, B for 3rd gear, and C for 4th gear. 20105 (or similar 5-digit number): This is the unique transmission serial number. Stamped directly on the front or bottom casting flange of the housing, this number can be used alongside a factory Kardex or Certificate of Authenticity to verify if the transmission is "matching numbers" to a specific 1958 or 1959 chassis

West Coast Classics is proud to present this highly coveted, investment-grade 1937 Buick Series 80 Roadmaster Phaeton. Emerging from the golden era of pre-war American luxury, this open-touring masterpiece is one of just 1,040 examples built for the entire 1937 model year. Extensively refurbished under prior ownership, this rare survivor reportedly went on to live a star-studded public life, serving as a featured vehicle in multiple Hollywood Christmas Parades between 1991 and 2010.  The Exterior & Chassis: Elite Styling: Finished in an elegant coat of White, highlighted by a gorgeous Tan folding soft top. Period Correct Details: Equipped with dual side-mount spare wheels tucked inside color-matched fender covers, rear fender skirts, functional running boards, a proud hood ornament, and rich chrome bumpers and trim. Footwork: Striking red-painted 16" steel wheels wrapped in vintage-style 6.50–16 Firestone bias-ply whitewall tires with chrome hubcaps and trim rings. Underpinnings: Built on a commanding 131" wheelbase chassis, boasting independent coil-sprung front suspension, a live rear axle with traditional leaf springs, and robust four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. The Powertrain: Buick Straight-Eight: The vehicle is powered by the legendary 320 cubic-inch inline-eight engine, featuring a highly durable five-main-bearing design. Gearbox: Power is delivered effortlessly to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 3-speed manual transmission. Aero-Inspired Accommodation:  The open cabin is trimmed in plush tan upholstery covering the front and rear bench seats, neatly complemented by color-matched door panels and carpeting. Amenities: Period-correct manual crank windows, a locking glovebox, and an authentic AM radio. Driver Gauges: A beautiful three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel frames a factory 120-mph speedometer and factory auxiliary pods. A discreet, aftermarket coolant temperature gauge has been added to the left of the column for engine health precision. Rarity & Provenance: Because the 1937 Model 80C Phaeton showcases superior historical and technological significance, it is recognized as a "Full Classic" by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA).  Automotive historians calculate that a slim 5% to 10% of the original 1,040 production units survive worldwide, making this car part of a highly exclusive global fraternity of an estimated 50 to 100 surviving examples.

West Coast Classics are proud to present and showcase an exceptionally rare piece of American automotive heritage: a top-of-the-line 1960 Edsel Ranger Convertible.  Representing the final model year for the short-lived brand, this highly collectible vehicle is one of only 76 ever manufactured.  Under the hood sits its factory-original, upgraded Y-code, 352 cubic-inch OHV Express V-8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor, pushing out 300 horsepower—the highest performance powertrain available for the Ranger line.  This power is managed by a Dual-Power three-speed automatic transmission, featuring an independent coil-spring front suspension, a live rear axle anchored by semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel power-hydraulic drum brakes. While it is uncommon for a vehicle rejected by its contemporaries to evolve into a highly prized collector car, the Edsel stands as a legendary exception.  The marque debuted in late 1957 with a bold, forward-thinking aesthetic, yet it struggled to capture the public's imagination despite a highly diverse 1958 lineup.  Hoping to reverse course, Ford scaled back for 1959 with a heavily Ford-based design, but sales plunged by another third.  For the 1960 model year, the Edsel returned as a subtly redesigned version of the standard 1960 Ford line.  Its swift demise shocked no one; production was permanently halted just over a month after launch, leaving a total production run of only 2,846 vehicles. Among these rare 1960 units, the convertible coupe reigns supreme among collectors, fueled by its minuscule 76-unit production run.  This extreme rarity has historically driven counterfeiters to fabricate clones by grafting Edsel front grilles and taillights onto standard 1960 Ford Sunliners. This particular vehicle is a thoroughly authentic, beautifully restored survivor that belongs to an elite category as a coveted, verified "one of one" build specification. Vehicle Overview & Restoration: Rarity & Color: Out of the 76 convertibles produced, fewer than 60 are accounted for today, with many lost to time or verified only through old paperwork.  This genuine survivor underwent a high-quality cosmetic restoration in striking Regal Red. Interior: The cabin features a period-correct, refreshed Red and Silver vinyl upholstery. Crucially, it retains its impossible-to-replicate, original factory-embossed door panels. Cabin Features: The dashboard retains its original AM pushbutton radio alongside a well-preserved Lever-Temp heater and defroster unit. Proven Authenticity: The car's ownership history is well-documented within the classic car community and has been officially verified by the Edsel Database Registry as a genuine factory convertible.  It was previously sold at RM Sotheby's Auburn Fall auction in 2018 for $95,700 before entering a prestigious private collection. History of the 1960 Edsel Demise: Ford Motor Company executives had quietly resolved to terminate the Edsel brand by mid-1959. However, to prevent legal entanglements and satisfy existing franchise contracts, corporate leadership opted to roll out a heavily restricted 1960 model year. The initial strategy was to cap production at 3,200 cars and dissolve the brand quietly at the end of December 1959. But as the retail network rapidly dissolved—leaving a mere five exclusive Edsel dealerships nationwide—executives accelerated their timeline.  On November 19, 1959, Ford blindsided assembly workers and dealers alike by publicly announcing the end of the Edsel brand. When the assembly lines froze on November 19th, exactly 2,830 units had been completed, while 16 more sat partially built at the Louisville, Kentucky factory.  Workers finished the remaining inventory the following day, and around noon on November 20, 1959, a Villager station wagon rolled off the line to officially close the book on the Edsel experiment.  The entire public retail window for the 1960 models lasted exactly one month and five days, having launched on October 15, 1959. VIN & Production Breakdown: The car's authentic identity is verified by its historic factory coding sequence (OU15Y701609): 0 (Model Year): 1960 model year. U (Assembly Plant): Assembled at the Louisville, Kentucky Ford plant (the exclusive home of the 1960 Edsel). 15 (Body Series): Ranger Deluxe/Convertible series. Y (Engine Type): 352 cu. in. Express V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor, pushing 300 horsepower (the top-tier optional engine for 1960). 701609 (Consecutive Unit Number): Built late in 1959 just prior to cancellation. This was the 1,609th Edsel built for the 1960 model year. (Production started at 700001 and stopped abruptly at roughly 702846) Data Plate Breakdown: 76B J 55 07K 4 8: 76B (Body Style): 2 DOOR CONVERTIBLE. This is the holy grail for Edsel collectors; only 76 were built before Ford shut down the division. J (Exterior Color): Regal Red paint. 55 (Interior Trim): Red Vinyl and Red Morrokide interior trim scheme designed specifically for the convertible line. 07K (Date of Manufacture): Built on October 7, 1959. This places its assembly just one week before the car was officially introduced to the public (October 15), and roughly six weeks before production was permanently halted (November 19). 4 (Transmission): Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. 8 (Rear Axle): 2.91:1 rear axle ratio, built for smooth, low-RPM highway cruising This vehicle represents a monumental chapter in American industrial history.  Combining peerless rarity with the ultimate factory engine option, this immaculate Edsel Ranger will instantly position its next caretaker at the absolute forefront of the global Ford & Edsel collector car community.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this one-year-only Starfire designation and a very rare and collectible fully loaded example with factory options including the rare J2 Tri-Power 371 CID Rocket engine, 1957 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible — 1957 was the sole year Oldsmobile applied the prestigious “Starfire” nameplate across its entire Ninety-Eight lineup. This is one extraordinarily rare example with the very rarely ordered factory optional J-2 tri-carb high-output Rocket V8 engine - the rare 300-horsepower performance variant of the 371ci V8 (vs. 277 hp for the base), originally aimed at both performance buyers and NASCAR competition. Very very few 98s left Lansing with the J-2 Tri-power set up  The rarest of the 1957 98 Starfire body configurations was the 2 Door Convertible, sharing halo-car status with the Buick Skylark and Cadillac Eldorado convertibles of the era. The car boasts its original factory ‘Jade Mist Iridescent and Alcan White’ two-tone paint with a white convertible top -  a documented factory color combination per the factory data plate and its original factory 'Three-tone Turquoise, Green and White' leather interior — a distinctive, period-correct multi-color upholstery treatment typical of top-of-the-line 1957 Oldsmobiles. Reportedly AACA Nationals prize winner in 2005 — recognized at one of the most prestigious antique automobile judging events in the country. Reportedly 20-year single ownership prior to our acquiring the car boasting the long-term stewardship that often correlates with consistent care. Featuring sculpted “rolling tunnel” rear quarter panels and three-piece chrome-wrapped taillights, this styling represented a deliberate shift away from tail-fin excess. Power came from a robust 371-cubic-inch Rocket V8 producing 277 horsepower in base form, with a high-output J-2 tri-carb setup delivering 300 hp targeted at both performance and NASCAR competition, as per this particular example. Paired with the improved Jetaway Hydra-Matic, the car combined luxury, power, and smooth shifting. Highlights: 371 V8 engine with optional J-2 Tri-Power carburetor setup rated at 300 hp  Refinished in factory Jade Mist Iridescent and Alcan White paint  Power steering, brakes, windows, and optional power seat  Factory Equipment: Power convertible top Power Steering Power Brakes Power Windows Power Seat Tinted glass Jetaway Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic  Autronic Eye oncoming headlight sensor  Original air conditioning  Deluxe heater & Defroster Wonder Bar Super Deluxe AM radio  120-mph speedometer  Clock  AM radio  Front seat belts  Green Daytona weave carpet  Dual side mirrors  Polished stainless steel wheels with chrome covers The data plate decodes as:  Style: 57-3067DX – 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 Convertible Coupe  Body: 9L 1751 – Lansing (Michigan) assembly plant (w/Fisher Body production sequence number)  Trim: 357 – Turquoise and white leather  Paint: 94-60-94 – Triple-tone scheme in Jade Mist Iridescent (upper and lower) and Alcan White (60) (middle section)  Acc: W M – Electric windshield wipers and power seat  The chassis number (579L04098) decodes as:  57 – 1957 model year  9 – Ninety-Eight series  L – Lansing (Michigan) assembly plant  04098 – Sequential production number  Refinished in original color combination  BFGoodrich Silvertown 9.00-14 whitewall tires  Tinted glass  White convertible boot cover  Spare wheel and tire  Jack and lug wrench  Rubber Oldsmobile trunk mat

West Coast Classics are proud to present this 1990 Bentley Continental Mulliner Park Ward coach built Drophead Coupe convertible classic, one of a claimed 180 examples produced between 1990 and 1991, and finished in the very rare and desirable original ‘Mason’s Black’ color paint paired with a Tan Connolly leather hides interior and matching sheepskin rugs, and heavily accented by hand-polished Burl Walnut veneers across the dashboard and center console. 1990–1991 Series:  A total of 180 units were produced. This specific iteration was technically identical to the Rolls-Royce Corniche III and featured updates such as a catalyst engine, an upgraded in-car entertainment system, automatic height control, and a revised dashboard. Full Generation Total (1984–1994): Across the entire lifespan of this original SZ-platform Bentley Continental convertible generation, only 421 units were built, making it exceptionally rare compared to its Rolls-Royce counterpart. Extremely Low Visual Matching: Out of the mere 180 total units built for the 1990–1991 Series III update, the vast majority were finished in traditional British Racing Green, Acrylic White, Royal Blue, or various metallic silver/gray tones. Estimated Rarity: Safe historical estimates dictate that fewer than 20 to 25 units were likely ordered globally in this exact Black-on-Tan configuration for the 1990 model year, making this chassis extraordinarily rare. Power comes from a 6.75-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a self-leveling independent suspension and 15″ aluminum alloy wheels along with a power-operated beige convertible top, burl wood interior trim, split-level climate control, and heated and power-adjustable front seats with memory settings.  Bentley revived the Continental nameplate after a 19-year absence in 1984. Based on the contemporary Corniche of then-parent company Rolls-Royce, the car received interior and emission system revisions shared with the Corniche III for 1990.  The Continental featured a body-color grille insert, bumper covers, and mirror caps along with bright wheel arch trim and fog lights and reverse lamps that surround the rear license plate holder.  The Mulliner Park Ward–built bodywork on this example is finished in Masons Black with Gold pinstriping. The Tan convertible top is stowed under a tan top boot. The Continental featured a four-wheel independent suspension with coil springs and a hydraulic self-leveling system, along with power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The heated and power-adjustable front seats and rear bench are upholstered in Tan Connolly leather, and matching trim extends to the dash as well as the center console and door panels.

West Coast Classics are proud to present this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Roadster which decodes as a very early production car built at the St. Louis factory. Here is the precise breakdown of what each character represents: 0 (1st Digit): Represents the last digit of the model year (1960). 08 (2nd & 3rd Digits): The General Motors series identification code for the Chevrolet Corvette. 67 (4th & 5th Digits): The GM body style designation for a Convertible (all 1960 Corvettes were convertibles from the factory). S (6th Digit): Identifies the assembly plant as St. Louis, Missouri. 101215 (7th–12th Digits): The sequential production number. Since production sequence numbers for 1960 started at 100001, this specific vehicle was the 1,215th Corvette built out of a total 10,261 produced for the 1960 model year. Given the low sequence number, it likely rolled off the line in late October or early November of 1959. Authentic Physical Visual Clues for a 1960 VIN: Because this car is an early-production model (sequence #1215), the physical location and material of the VIN tag are critical for verification. The engine stamp V0716TJU decodes directly to a Chevrolet small-block V8 engine assembled at the Flint, Michigan plant on July 16th. Here is the exact character-by-character breakdown: V: The assembly plant code for Flint Engine Tasks in Flint, Michigan. 0716: The month and day of assembly (July 16th). Note that GM engine stamps of this era do not include the year in the date prefix; the year must be determined by cross-referencing the suffix and block casting numbers. TJU: The engine suffix code. The TJU suffix confirms this block is a Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. It was originally factory-installed in one of the following heavy-duty light truck/commercial applications: 1973 Chevrolet/GMC G-Series Van (G30 1-ton) 1973 Chevrolet/GMC P-Series Commercial Chassis (Step-vans, motorhomes, or buses) Because it is a commercial-grade 350 V8, it likely features a heavy-duty 4-bolt main block, making it a highly desirable, strong base for hot rods or classic car engine swaps. However, it is definitively not a factory Corvette motor. 1 of 1,641 with an Auxiliary Hardtop in lieu of a soft top. Powerglide Automatic Transmission AM Signal seeking radio The car will be sold with its original factory hardtop and AM Wonderbar radio and is an original California car recently acquired from long term southern California ownership and which still boasts its original California 'Black License' plates. Finished in 'Sateen Silver' with a White interior. No signs of any accidents. A very honest but unrestored example.  As stated the car was recently acquired from long term storage and we have the car up and running and the car runs and drives well. The paint although presentable for a daily driver should be considered old and faded. The interior is in similar condition, presentable with good seats and carpets and functional but unrestored.

In 1972, General Motors unified the VIN formats for Chevrolet and GMC trucks, adding a leading "T" to signify the GMC division. VIN Code Breakdown: T (Division): GMC Truck C (Chassis Type): 2-Wheel Drive (Conventional 4x2) E (Engine Type): V8 Gas Engine 2 (GVWR / Series): 3/4-Ton (2500 Series) 4 (Body Style): Pickup with Cab and Bed 2 (Model Year): 1972 Z (Assembly Plant): Fremont, California Factory options include: 400 CID V8 Engine Turbo Hydramatic transmission Air Conditioning Power Steering AM/FM Stereo Front Shock Absorbers Heavy Duty Springs Heavy Duty Battery Tilt Steering Wheel Auxiliary Battery Camper Wiring Sierra Grande Custom Package Custom Camper Equipment White over Medium Olive Paint Olive Custom Cloth Trim Tinted Glass Camper Mirrors Front Stabilizer Rear Leaf Spring Suspension Fully equipped and factory ordered with air conditioning equipment, power steering, power brakes, Olive Houndstooth bench custom seat interior and trim with matching color carpet and kick panel carpet and dashboard and door trim panels and boasting the original factory 'Sierra Grande' and 'Custom Camper' packages. The truck was optioned with the heavy-duty rear springs and shocks, which raised the GVW from 6,400 to 7,500 pounds; with the 8.75-16.5 load range D tires, it earned the right to carry the 'Custom Camper' badge. You could order the springs, tires, or shocks a-la-carte and not have the badge. To get the badge, though, you had to have all the required equipment. The top-dog in the Trim Packages for 1972 was the 'Sierra Grande' package which offered an extra look of richness with woodgrain inserts in the door panels, glove box and instrument cluster, and nylon houndstooth inserts in the seats with co-ordinated vinyl trim and carpeting, extra floor and top cowl insulation is included as well as Bright Metal interior and exterior trim. Air conditioning was a $400 option. This is one very honest truck and must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - the original Big Block 400 4 BBL V8 engine is extremely strong and responsive, the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool. In summary, this is one very fine example of this increasingly collectible and desirable 1972 year of the legendary full size C20 3/4 ton pick up in rare turn-key ready, daily appreciating, daily driving and daily head-turning condition and an all time classic American truck with it's original 402 Big Block V8 engine and fully loaded with factory options and the top-of-the-line trim package!

West Coast Classics present this 1966 Ford titled Cobra replica that is powered by a 302ci V8 paired with a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. 302 V8 Engine Tremec T5 5-Speed Manual 3.73:1 Positraction Differential Red Fiberglass Bodywork Black Leather Upholstery Side Exhaust Pipes Roll Hoop Four-Wheel Disc Brakes Coilovers Torq Thrust-Style Wheels The fiberglass bodywork is finished in Red, and equipment includes black leather upholstery, side exhaust pipes, a roll hoop, four-wheel disc brakes, adjustable coilovers, and Torq Thrust-style wheels. The body kit was reportedly originally sourced from Lone Star Classics who are renown to have a unique footprint compared to other standard Shelby Cobra replicas (like Factory Five or Superformance with some having a "Stretched" 90” Cockpit. Lone Star were known for building their replicas using a custom square-tube chassis that features a 4-inch longer wheelbase and a narrower transmission tunnel. This was marketed specifically to provide extra legroom and footwell space, making it much more comfortable for drivers over 6 feet tall compared to tight-fitting original Cobra. They also boasted flared bodywork with a fiberglass body featuring slightly wider, more aggressive fender flares. This car has a highly reliable small-block Ford 302 cubic-inch (5.0L) V8. It is finished in bright gloss Red with a black-finished driver-side roll hoop, quick-jack bumperettes and glass wind wings. The interior is outfitted in Black leather upholstery. The car has a Ford Positraction differential and classic raw chrome side-exit exhaust pipes. The brakes were upgraded to four-wheel disc brakes for modern stopping power. The suspension is equipped with adjustable coilovers at all four corners, allowing the ride height and stiffness to be dialed in for track or street cruising. The fiberglass body features classic details such as wind wings, side-exit exhaust pipes, quick-jack bumperettes, and a bullet-shaped driver's side mirror. A black roll hoop is mounted behind the driver for safety.
