Someday, I'll definitely become one of the software engineers that make these space missions possible
Do you want your name sent around the Moon on the #Artemis I mission? It’s not quite writing it in the stars, but it’s still pretty impressive!

Boko Haram Islamist jihadist terrorists in Nigeria kidnapped and beheaded Christian women and men from Gwoza in Borno April 2026.
They sat the captives on the ground and cut their heads off while fellow terrorist Muslims chanted Allahu Akbar as the christians were decapitated.

My friend was kidnapped on Tuesday on his way back home from Edo state.
We've been able to raise less than 2 million naira.
We need more support and help please.
Please, repost and support 🙏

My mom has carried this guilt her whole life, she’ll always say “If I know I for no open your ear.”
The guilt has eaten her deeply. Every time she apologizes, she stays up all night with me, massages my shoulders and body when the pain starts, and sold almost everything she owns to always come through for me.
You don’t realize what you’re doing for me. This is one of my biggest insecurities. I don’t know a better word than thank you.
You decided to help a stranger just like that? I’m overwhelmed. I’ve been shaking since I got the estimate. I just ate something.
I’m deeply grateful to you all. Thank you, thank you.

Geospatial Technology, GeoAI, GIS & Earth Observation/ Remote Sensing are at the heart of one of the most exciting frontiers in space technology…,🛰️🌍
Satellites orbiting hundreds of kilometres above Earth generate data that helps us monitor crops, predict floods, track deforestation, map cities, discover resources, and understand our changing planet.
Combined with AI, this data becomes actionable intelligence, creating massive opportunities across agriculture, climate, infrastructure, defence, and countless other industries.
🚀 The space economy isn’t just about reaching other planets. It’s about unlocking the enormous potential of the data we collect from above our own.
And we’re only scratching the surface

Building a career is not supposed to be fun. It's hard work. Boring, sweaty, tiring work
Most people who have done great stuff, with successes you see on social media have compounded work overtime. It takes time and an unhealthy load of will power/dedication

I'm definitely looking towards building an aerospace software company someday
12 years ago I founded Boom, as a software engineer doing hardware for the first time. I’m probably the least handy founder in hard tech. My 12 y/o son does my soldering and 3D printing for home projects, and I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome the whole way through. What business does a software guy have building supersonic jets and turbines?
More than a decade in, the most insane realization is that software is the key to reaccelerating hardware engineering. But in a way that I don’t think is widely understood or implemented, even in the burgeoning hard tech community.
Most hardware engineering is actually software engineering in disguise. It’s spreadsheet “code,” engineering calculations done as one-offs. Eg wing structural loads in, spar sizing design out. Thermal loads in, air conditioning system sizing out.
Everything is a calculation, and calculation is software. But these calculations are done essentially by hand, as if we are doing arithmetic but have not yet discovered algebra.
Hardware engineers have baby software, built in spreadsheets, the kind of crappy software I wrote as a kid before I understood architecture, unit tests, APIs, version control, and everything else that makes modern software good.
Our airplanes and engines are built with the software sophistication of a script kiddie.
So what we tell our engineers: don’t design the hardware, design the *algorithm* for designing the hardware. And take the algorithm seriously—as an algorithm and as a first-class engineered software system.
Never design a piece of hardware, such that you couldn’t redesign it tomorrow with a different set of assumptions.
This all sounds obvious, yet our experience at Boom is that it changes everything.
Ten years ago we couldn’t afford to build much software. We had a small team—and there were few software engineers with the curiosity, brilliance, and vision required to learn hardware engineering.
But now AI changes the equation. Now everyone can code. The software engineers define the architecture. The hardware people bring the physics and engineering know-how.
We have a turbomachinery design tool that lets one engineer do in realtime what previously took 100 engineers six months. Another tool auto-generates 65% of entire aircraft structure. I’m sure we’ll figure out the other 35% too. Eventually these should not be multiple tools, but one integrated physics model of a complete vehicle, airframe and powertrain.
The results speak for themselves. A boomless supersonic airplane built by 50. A full scale supersonic turbine made by 150. And with this approach, I don’t think we’ll need that many more people to build and certify a supersonic airliner.
You don’t need a big team to build big things—not when everyone on the team is a software engineer.
I'm watching this video and I'm just "sighing". With the right amount of funds and machining equipment, we can actually pull this off at @lasu_space . One day ,( and soon enough) we eventually will,

I asked it for all the gravel airstrips in Canada’s north, for a project I'm working on. It found them in seconds.

Excited to announce that Planet AI is generally available! You can 'ask the Earth' 💬🌎
Today's AI models have read the internet, but they haven't seen the world. The @planet AI app changes that. You can now ask questions directly to a 10+ year, 3,000+ layer archive of daily satellite imagery.
During beta, we've seen:
🌾 Farmers boosting crop yields
🚒 First responders tracking disaster paths
🛡️ Security teams uncovering emerging risks
🌲 Park rangers halting illegal deforestation in real time
We're putting satellite intelligence into more hands, helping more people see what's happening on Earth and make better decisions. Search. Analyse. Act.
What questions do you have? Try it now: ai.planet.com/?utm_campaign=…

Reading about the Learjet 60 crash, it occurs to me that some of the flight delays of Nigerian airlines that we complain about must be due to trying to avoid bad weather. Does anyone here know about the reasons?
Exactly
Right now Starlink makes more money than NASA gets funding to do human spaceflight, and Starship is designed specifically to boost the profitability and total revenue of Starlink.
Even if you assume orbital data centers will be a complete bust, Starlink (especially D2D) will keep driving Starship for the foreseeable future.
