PAYE and all personal income related taxation really just strains finances of the harding working Zambians who give away so many hours of their lives only for government to get close to 40% of their hard earned income, ; I know the our governments past & present have always loved charging its people high PAYE because it’s an easy income tax for governments to collect & enforce hence the people are willfully given the burden of carrying the cost of government’s consistent lack of & failure to create a broadened, efficiently shared tax collection base. PAYE pisses me off it’s always been a tax I hate, & if I was anywhere near having the power to get rid of it or to lower it by a notable margin I wouldn’t hesitate to create a taxation task force to horn in on coming up with clever but justifiable alternative taxes away from taxing people’s incomes; PAYE is too high & it has been for a long; this is because governments have failed to create employment for its citizens which translates to lower tax rates-when taxes are equally shared among a highly employed population in Zambia’s case @HHichilema you are allowing your people to be financially punished especially young minority working population, to cover governments failure to efficiently collect taxes & create more employment opportunities to help share-spread these income tax burdens. The current taxes on peoples incomes break numerous taxation principles especially the principle of equitable taxation. Furthermore, PAYE staying high is counterproductive and goes against the #growzambia agenda currently in motion simply because high PAYE results in reduced disposable income which means lowered investment potential, less spending on goods and services which means the businesses are not making more profits which ultimately means reduced or no business growth or startup which ultimately leads higher cost of capital etc, it’s simple economics with government the only winning party because they are punishing every working citizen. We have large and foreign corporations, mining companies and businesses making billions of kwachas why not tax them heavily? Been keenly calling for high reduction in person income taxes for years now.

I really wish, Mr President @HHichilema, that you can really emphasise and encourage ALL our MPs, Ministers, Mayors, and Councillors, & every key leader in your government structure, the following; 1. They all need to deliberately encourage all the young people to seek support for their ideas and small businesses from all their leaders at every level. Each office can state what it requires from the young people in order to access the support; this process or selection needs to be documented and very fair. You will see the country's future secure itself, and mindsets will start shifting exponentially simply because Zambia has very talented, creative, and relentlessly driven young people. We need a president who will fully believe in us- support us all- and publicly stress the need for everyone in his government to embrace this and support the movement/mentality, with all success stories published & shared. To all the young people empowered, you are simply expected to collaborate, partner up, and employ fellow youths; let the blessings flow through intentionally. The current major challenges for the majority of the youth are; 1. Lack of access to affordable financing and unrealistic requirements, especially for the youth. 2. Extremely unrealistic barriers to entry in many different sectors. 3. Access to land; please, the government really needs to prioritise making ownership of this key factor of production is made available, easy, and quick to legally acquire for all young Zambian people, the youth. In fact, land acquisition should be so easy in our own country for Zambians, simply because this is our land, our home; we should own it. 4. Taxes, fees, etc costs before you even start profiting and doing business are too high. For all the young people in formal employment, I know how painful it is to look at how much PAYE the government, via ZRA, gets from us; it's way too much, especially for the youth & young people starting their lives; we can't even think of investing with the resulting very low disposable incomes; simple. PAYE rate is almost a whopping 40%! Not only is it economically choking us out of economic activities, but it is grossly unfair because the formal sector gets punished for the government's failure to broaden its tax base; it is better to have our tax burdens shared by many, so that all the tax rates are significantly lowered for the country, especially for the youth. Certain taxes actually are counterproductive for the government's potential income. Addressing these four key pain points will get the ball rolling positively in the right direction for many of the youth in the country, and significantly spear the mindset shift exponentially as you desire. The positive trickle down effect will be historic!
Let us strive to be solution oriented. That is how societies advance. Tired of walking back and forth to answer a call, you invent a cordless phone. Tired of driving to buy one packet of sugar, introduce a small packages home delivery service. I urge us all to have this mindset.

Replying to @ChabzOfficial
Fr, Zambia and Malawi's economies combined are small and would be a liability to Zimbabwe. Despite Zim being under sanctions for the past 2 and 1/2 dacade, Zim is still bigger.

It’s getting real, it’s worrisome time to in a foreign country, as countries increasingly want & feel the need to prioritize their own interests and citizens. It is a good time to start making plans to return to your real homes, especially if you entered other people’s countries illegally, with fake documentation.
#Breaking South Sudan has ordered all Ugandans, Kenyans, Eritreans and Burundians operating small businesses to leave their country immediately.

Zambia any comments?
A fuel price shock for motorists next week is now unavoidable. Central Energy Fund data suggests that petrol will push higher than R30 per litre for the first time in history and diesel will also reach a record high. Tune in to #eNCA, on #DStv403.

BURKINA FASO OPENS $19 MILLION GOLD REFINERY @HHichilema @JitoKayumba It did not take him long. What is our excuse in Zambia, after all these decades? Our minerals should be benefiting the Zambians fully. Our citizens, especially those in formal employment, are extremely overtaxed when our mineral wealth & profile is more than enough to have PAYE & all personal income related taxes completely removed or drastically reduced. PAYE is currently almost 40% of an employee's pay! that's is total financial abuse. That is the government literally punishing its people for having jobs, and the fact that unemployment rates are high, it leaves the small percentage of people in formal employment to bear the tax burden for the millions, which directly violates a key taxation principle of tax fairness. We are unfairly taxed and overtaxed as people, and our minerals should be serving us through taxes. We need urgent mineral tax reforms and offset all taxes on people; it's very possible, with the right will, to get this done and financially liberate the Zambians. It's time to make REAL change. TAXES ON ZAMBIANS ARE TOO HIGH; they are punishing Zambians. We understand PAYE and other personal taxes are very easy to collect for the government; hence the lack of urgency to free Zambians from taxes, but c'mon, it's too much stress on the people who are putting in long hours just for the government to take almost half of their earnings. Broaden your tax base and income sources away from taxing your people; a country's leadership should hate taxing its people. WE NEED ZERO TAXES FOR ZAMBIANS ON ALL THEIR PERSONAL INCOME. SIMPLE: GOVT FIND OTHER SOURCES OF INCOME AND BROADEN YOUR TAX BASE. The economic activity will be the real winner, in the end. @ChabzOfficial @Snatchead Let's push for this agenda, comrades! It's for the people of Zambia: direct welfare improvement. africa.businessinsider.com/l…

The foreign employers especially the Chinese and the Indians in Zambia are really exploiting the locals with extremely unfair work conditions. The Labor office really needs to penalize and kick out some of these employers. Zambian welfare should be top priority, whether unionized or not, ensure every employee is protected with standardized conditions of service , no amount of investment should compromise the dignity of Zambian workers and their welfare.

Africa still has no permanent seat on the Security Council. A 21st century Security Council without permanent African representation is unjust & indefensible. We must reform the Council so that it reflects today’s world with the legitimacy and effectiveness that today’s challenges demand.

I do not remember seeing any human rights activists or organisations, or bodies including sharing a petition but when it comes to African leaders making decisions they always have an opinion.
Sometimes I randomly remember that the U.S. kidnapped another country's head of state and the world just shrugged and moved on.

Since when did a criminal's nationality have anything to do with anything? A crime is a crime, and justice has no gender or nationality. STOP using nationalities to justify anything. A crime is simply a crime! The law is the law. Why should it matter where the culprit is from? We can do better. Otherwise, I hope justice is served and fast! Prayers out to South Africa and the families of the victims. Sad development indeed.
🚨Reminder - Serial Killer Moses Sithole is not a South African🇿🇦 Moses Sethole's parents are Zimbabwean🇿🇼 foreigners. He is not a South African. The media must stop referring to him as a South African.

That would have been the only excuse South Africans needed to start killing African foreigners, they’re carrying out crimes as South Africans or along with other foreigners but the people who love to showcase all the wrongs by only “African immigrants” like @JacintaNgobese are probably upset that it’s not a Nigerian or Zimbabwean.
What if the Kempton Park serial killer is a foreigner ?

What is the biggest obstacle holding Africa back?

RUMOR MONGERS DOOM AND GLUM ADVOCATES HAVE THEIR IDs REVOKED BY GOVERNMENT. This is such good news because I was irritated and irked by these individuals for years, it’s good the government has dealt with bitter rumor mongers with no respect or regard to country. Tell me why these characters ran away from the country? if they’re have nothing to fear? The guilt are always afraid. These jokers have been or this weird crusade/obsession to paint our country as this hostile dangerous place with hopes of getting redemption to come back to our beautiful country if government ever changed, so they have been determined to ridicule the country and disrespect the country’s leadership consistently for YEARS, so yes it’s good that they’re now foreigners and are no longer citizens of Zambia. These self exiled enemies of our country have done or said nothing positive about the country for many years so we actually don’t need them for anything the bitterness was just too much whether you are aggrieved there’s better ways of expressing your frustration and anger not the extents to which these old clowns took everything. It became their daily bread and butter to spread unproven exaggerated information to disregard the leadership of Zambia and the country at large. @ssishuwa 😂 bye ✌🏾 the road ends here, you see what talk talking lot of nonsense gets you? You are lucky they too took long actually. Continue ranting for the rest of your life Zambians don’t actually care…we know you chaps needed government to change, it’s been cowardice advocacy hiding behind selfish personal interests.
148
They’re complete Jokers, even in Zambia we will show them how you can achieve your goals to maintain border security and control without being disgustingly hateful and xenophobic towards others especially our brothers in Africa. South Africa is a terrible country period with terrible people.
South Africans coming to Kenya twitter thinking they’ve finally got brothers in Xenophobia and they discover real pan-Africanist 😂

Leaving your country, seeking refuge in another, and trying to rebuild your life from scratch is never easy. It is even more painful to finally find a place of safety and opportunity, only to face the threat of being forced out again. We all share this world, and we should strive to create communities built on dignity, compassion, coexistence and love. Let Burundians who are living and working in Kenya do so in peace. If anyone commits a crime, let the law take its course, investigate, arrest and prosecute them according to the law, regardless of their nationality. #Refugeenius: Let Burundians work, build and live in Kenya in peace.

Why is the continent allowing self-hate to thrive? How is this becoming rampant and "normal"? Who really wins from our division? There's more than enough for everyone in Africa.
Ruto running a Xenophobia campaign a year out before his country hosts an AFCON is the craziest own goal I've ever seen.. 🤣

The negativity surrounding Zambia, especially in Zambia, is genuinely being forced; it's not real. The truth, if you pay close attention to the details, is in plain sight; i.e., personally, I would ask you/anyone purporting that Zambia is under some "imaginary crisis/unrest": some questions for anyone claiming there's chaos in Zambia; 1. Have you ever seen or experienced a Zambian people who have been freer to comfortably and publicly exercise their freedom of speech? In our political history? 2. President @HHichilema gets insulted, ridiculed, and disrespected by many people daily, both within and outside the country; it's public knowledge, and some people are even making sueable accusations. What do you make of this state of reality? More freedom, or more oppression? 3. Where was all this energy during the PF regime? Or maybe people have already forgotten what this country went through? PF was a whole gang, and not a political party.
The news about Zambia in Zambia is different with the news outside Zambia about Zambia. 😳
