Flamingos Have Flown - NFF, Don't Clip Their Wings
History was made in Rabat tonight.
Our darling Flamingos beat Japan 2-1 to win the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Goals from Awawu Bashiru and Golden Ball winner Oluebube Umejiaku did it. Nigeria is now the FIRST African nation ever to win this trophy, and the first African country to win U-17 World Cup in both male and female categories. From losing 2-1 to Poland in the opening game to beating champions North Korea, Brazil 3-1, and Japan in the final - this is resilience.
We congratulate Coach Bankole Olowookere and these brave girls. You wrote your names in gold.
Now to the NFF - this is where our work begins.
We have celebrated age-grade triumphs before and then watched the stars fade. Not this time.
1. Monitor and nurture: Put these Flamingos on a proper tracking, education and welfare program. No disappearances. No age fraud stories. Let them finish school, stay in their local clubs, but with federal support.
2. Integrate, don't isolate: Earlier this year, another age-grade female set defeated England's junior Lionesses. Combine that group with these world champions. They are the future. The Super Falcons is ageing and needs deliberate injection. Create a transition program - U17 to U20 to Falcons - with real friendly minutes, not bench-warming.
We have the talents. Let us not waste them.
Congratulations, Flamingos. You made Africa proud.

KETCHUP WAS ONCE SOLD AS MEDICINE
Glitch Daily Weekend Foodies
In the 1830s, it was sold as a tonic to cure indigestion.
Fun Fact: Cheese is the most stolen food in the world.
Not phones. Not jewellery. Cheese.
Every year, supermarkets, warehouses, and restaurants lose millions of dollars worth of cheese to thieves. Some steal it to eat. Some steal it to resell. Because cheese is valuable, easy to carry, and easy to sell without anyone asking questions.
In some countries, police have even caught organized gangs who specialize only in stealing cheese.
Do you know Honey does not spoil?
Archaeologists once found honey inside ancient Egyptian tombs, over 3,000 years old. They tasted it. It was still good.
Honey does not spoil because it has almost no water, it is naturally acidic, and bees add a special enzyme that keeps bacteria away. It may harden and change colour, but it never truly goes bad.
Food is full of secrets.
Which one shocked you the most?

THE BOY WHO NEVER GAVE BACK THE SHIRT — By José Mourinho
I met Cristiano when he was 18. Not a boy. A storm.
Yesterday he said: "The day has come to hand back the Number 7 shirt."
But listen to me - Cristiano never owned the Number 7. Portugal owned him. And he gave them everything.
234 times he wore it. 146 goals. From Kazakhstan in 2003 to Wales in 2026. Six World Cups. First man ever to score in six. Euro 2016 in Paris, on one leg, coaching from the touchline because even when he could not run, he could not stop leading. Nations League 2019, 2025.
People talk about the feud with Jorge Jesus. I don't. Because football forgets quickly, but history does not. History will not remember one bench in Norway. History will remember 23 years where a kid from Madeira made a small country feel like the biggest country in the world.
I coached him at Real Madrid. I told him once: "You will never be happy with one goal." He looked at me and said: "Mister, I will never be happy with one. I want more."
That's why he is on 985 goals now. Hunting 1000. Still hunting at 41. While others retired to the beach, he stayed in the gym.
Leo Messi had his farewell last month in Argentina. Beautiful. Emotional. A perfect movie.
Cristiano? His ending is different. He walked away himself. He said "It was not made only with the head, but with the heart." That is Cristiano. No script. No perfect farewell. Just heart.
When he said yesterday: "If one of my goals ever made you hug someone, forget a worry or feel proud of our country, then it was all worth it"- :that is the most honest thing he ever said.
He made Portugal hug. For 23 years.
So no, Cristiano. You don't hand back the shirt. The shirt will always be looking for you.

Ejemplo:
Tengo 39 años.
Nací en 1987.
Entonces, 39 + 1987 = 2026
Usa tu edad actual.
Ejemplo:
Nací en 1982 y tengo 44 años.
1982 + 44= 2026
Ejemplo:
Nací en 1958
y tengo 68 años.
1958 + 68 = 2026
🙋🏻♂️Muy interesante...
Pruébalo tú mismo.
THROWBACK THURSDAY DIARY
"I WENT BACK TO AREMO ODE-AJE AFTER 10 YEARS"
I didn't plan to be emotional today.
I went to my maternal grandfather's house in Aremo Ode-Aje. It's been close to a decade since I last entered that street. I was just going to check something.
But the street greeted me first.
Houses I knew as a child - houses where grandma sold akara, where Baba prayed on a mat in front of his house - many have fallen. Roof gone. Doors gone. Windows like empty eyes. Some locked with rusted padlocks that no one has opened in years.
I stood there and asked myself: where are the children of these houses? Where are the great-grandchildren?
They are everywhere. Lagos. Abuja. Abroad. In fine houses they built for themselves. But the house that raised their grandfather is now a bush.
My maternal grandfather's house was still okay. Not because it is richer. Because someone stayed. Someone swept. Someone kept the light on.
That is when it hit me.
An ancestral home is not supposed to die because the owner died. If we leave it like that, we are not preserving heritage, we are creating danger. In this modern world, a deserted house in the middle of a city is a criminal hideout.
Ibadan is full of them. Thousands. The famous brown roofs are now brown ruins.
So I have a suggestion, not as a politician, but as a grandchild who just returned:
Oyo State Government, please step in.
Don't seize. Call the families. Sit with the Mogajis.
Propose a deal: Government brings developers. Rebuild the house to modern standard. Rent it for 10 or 15 years to recover the money. Then return it to the family, clean and documented.
If the family wants to sell, buy it. Give them fair value. Use it to give Ibadan the facelift it deserves.
We cannot keep praising our grandparents in words, while we let their houses become graves.
I left Aremo Ode-Aje today thinking: the house is still standing because someone stayed. What about the houses where no one stayed?

EDITORIAL: OGUN EAST 2027 - A CONTEST OF POWER AND PROVENANCE
By Glitch Daily
Ogun East has always been more than a senatorial district. It is the soul of Ijebu politics - discerning, wealthy, and brutally pragmatic.
As the nation heads to January 16, 2027, the district faces a choice that will define its voice in the 11th National Assembly.
On one side is Governor Adedapo Abiodun, the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress. Having spent eight years in Oke-Mosan, his bid for the Senate is a familiar Nigerian ritual - the governor-to-senator transit. His credentials are power, incumbency, and access. In securing the APC ticket, he effectively retired the incumbent, Senator Gbenga Daniel. It was a statement of dominance.
On the other side is Alhaji AbdulHameed Omotayo, alias Omo Owo, of the Peoples Democratic Party. A businessman with over three decades in the oil & gas sector, Omo Owo represents a different political currency - enterprise over establishment. His emergence on May 20, 2026, and his audacious claim that he would defeat the governor "by noon" has electrified the district.
This is the titan fight.
But the question before Ijebu-Ode and the other eight local governments is deeper than personalities. It is whether to entrust its Senate seat to federal influence, or to reclaim it with a homegrown son.
The wise elders of Ijebu say you do not throw the baby away with the bath water. Ogun East cannot afford to discard experience for emotion, nor can it discard identity for influence.
On January 16, the ballot will reveal which wisdom prevailed.
What do you think?

Build these habits starting now: lift weights and do cardio most weeks, eat mostly whole foods with plants and enough protein, sleep 7-9 hours on a consistent schedule, never smoke, keep alcohol low, manage stress, and stay connected with people. They compound strongly from your 20s onward for better health at 70.

Yes. The normal nighttime rise in ADH often blunts or disappears with age, and kidneys become less responsive to it. Basal levels usually stay the same or increase, but the lost nocturnal surge contributes to higher nighttime urine output (nocturia) in many older adults.

Replying to @_GlitchDaily @TheEmmalez
Antidiuretic hormone (ADH, also called vasopressin) is made by the pituitary. Levels typically rise at night and tell the kidneys to reabsorb water, so urine output drops. That is why many people sleep 6-8 hours without needing to pee.
Replying to @_GlitchDaily @TheEmmalez
Yes, plenty of people sleep 6-8 hours straight without waking to pee. The body normally produces less urine at night thanks to antidiuretic hormone, so a full night without interruption is common and healthy—especially if you're younger or don't drink much before bed.
Waking once is also normal for many adults. Twice or more most nights (nocturia) is when it can signal something like excess evening fluids, age-related changes, or other factors worth checking. Those who never wake are fine.

Confirmed genuine. UD Almería officially announced it will donate all ticket revenue from its home match vs Tenerife (matchday 34) to Jesús de Miguel’s family, on president Mohammed Al-Khereiji’s initiative. Ronaldo owns a 25% stake in the club since Feb 2026. The “Saudi Investment Fund partnership” detail is not in the club’s statement.
