The proof of the Classification is so damn long that they never finished publishing the refactored version because the main authors were dying faster than they could write. xitter.cf/axiommathai/status/211…

AxiomProver's swarm built the proof in 50 million lines of Lean, over 24 days. The repository is the largest Lean code base to date. Code generation at this scale forced us to reimagine the underlying engineering infrastructure. We saw a glimpse of the future of swarm coding.

at what scale will these hacking incidents finally become military matters? hospitals getting ransomed should be a redline, or does it only become one when we get 9/11 scale of deaths? people will 100% die from delayed ambulances that had to divert.
Hackers absolutely compromised New Mexico hospital system. Surgeries cancelled. Ambulances diverted. Hackers demands broadcast over the sound system.

It turns out math was only beautiful because we weren't looking for the incredibly ugly stuff
A pessimistic hypothesis for complexity theory: every simple and beautiful algorithm can be made log(n)^epsilon faster by making it incredibly ugly

not gonna argue against the post as any reasonable person or person who ever used a drone immediately sees the practical value of this research. but the genius in the post is that it preempts any reasonable arguments by rendering them as motivated reasoning and self-deception.
It’s worthwhile to play through in your mind the kinds of motivated reasoning and self-deception that might have led academics to work on this project. It’ll help you understand better what’s going on at AGI companies.

imagine if a share of all cyber ransoms being demanded went into a fund that pays out bounties for getting the extortionist. how big would such a fund be by now?
GMO refused to pay the $50m ransom demanded by the hackers, so they have threatened to trigger ransomware installed on the PCs of everyone who was logged into the cloud during the hack. GMO is asking everyone to unplug and turn off their PCs ahead of the deadline 30 min from now.

azure, with a market value of estimated $2t if it was a seperate business, can not get its docs right
The Azure portal changing faster than the supporting documentation is so deeply frustrating. The help agents can lend is even limited because everything in their training data is out of date and wrong. The built in copilot chat seems to only work half the time.

the day will come when i will be hedonically adapted to math getting solved forever by AI, but for now the hits still feel like hits
OpenAI has announced to three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics: - Local smoothing and the Kakeya conjecture - The Exponential Time Hypothesis is false - Existence of quantum chromodynamics and completions of the Standard Model

we will need a state-mandated pangram for phones, because people yearn for building the wire fraud automaton
We made the first AI model you can have a realistic conversation with that was trained entirely on speech! Dessa is a full-duplex speech-to-speech model that you can run on consumer GPUs. This is a GPT3 moment for speech.

Replying to @jakemintz @Suhail
Hi Jake - i work at one of the big 3 AI labs. I can assure you - it’s 100x worse than anyone is telling you truthfully. We had to patch a major energy security flaw on 3 grids in the US this week alone. This will never leave the lab’s walls - but I’m brave enough to say it. We are about 3-5 days away from a potential 20% blackout of energy in the US.

we absolutely should in fact genetically engineer bioluminescent plants & trees and then completely eradicate the affront to God that is LED street lights from the face of the Earth
How come it's always war and never like road work. Can we genetically engineer some giraffes for construction projects?

I went to a restaurant today that made me order by QR code. Scanning the code took me to an app that immediately opened a live activity on my phone. Closing the tab involved a default 22% tip and declining an offer for Polymarket credits
