NEW: NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani has launched a new online tool to help New Yorkers keep their SNAP food assistance and Medicaid health coverage as new federal work requirements threaten access to benefits.
According to the city, the Mamdani administration has already helped more than 220,000 New Yorkers at risk of losing SNAP, reducing projected benefit losses by 65%.
Now, with approximately 900,000 New Yorkers at risk of losing Medicaid coverage under federal changes taking effect in 2027, the city is expanding its efforts.
The new website helps residents identify exemptions, understand requirements, and access food, health care, and employment resources.
