Imagine finding this 6½-foot-tall painting on the sidewalk in Queens — next to the trash. What would you do? The discovery of the portrait, painted by chef Chris Bianco's father, touched off a bizarre tale — one of serendipity and, ultimately, forgiveness. latimes.com/california/story…

Roland the Farter was a medieval jester during the reign of Henry II of England during the 12th century. He achieved a significant amount of fame for his unique talent.
He was known for his exceptional farting abilities, which he cleverly incorporated into his entertaining court performances.
Roland's astonishing control allowed him to use farts as almost a form of musical expression.
Roland's peculiar talent made him a popular figure at King Henry II's court, and he was granted various privileges and rewards for his performances.
Roger Hoveden, a medieval chronicler of the time, wrote of a Christmas celebration in 1052 where Roland performed.
Henry II was so pleased with the performance that Roland was gifted a manor house in the village of Hemingstone in Suffolk, England. Along with the estate, Roland was granted a significant parcel of land and various other perks.

L.A.'s sushi revolution wouldn't have happened when it did without a special strain of Koda Farms rice. It was the brainchild of a visionary: the son of a samurai who had been an oil wildcatter before he was a farmer. Here's the story, w/ 📷 by @MTauger: latimes.com/business/story/2…

In 2019, I bought a treasure map, one made by an enigmatic actor. Was it real? That question led me to the crumbling Silver Lake estate of a silent film star and a sinister corner of the Mojave, where gritty prospectors are looking for $1 trillion of gold: latimes.com/california/story…
Murder by Death is a better movie than Clue, and was made 9 years prior. 40% of Clue is rippd off MBD. Eileen Brennan is in both 💕
True Lies is even better than you remember, if you do. Either way it’s on HULU and double worth your time
