@_Ms_Moore_ talks about how representation matters. How are diversifying who "matters" and what kind of "art" matters? It's so important for students to see themselves represented in different ways, and see diversity in the art they are consuming #OnEdMentors
I used this with students in my music classroom and it is an excellent resource! Highly recommend!

#DidYouKnow that Truth and Reconciliation Week programming comes with age-appropriate resources and classroom activities for students? Teachers, we want to support you in facilitating difficult & important conversations with your students. We hope you will join us.
As an @sjamps teacher, I am supportive of the motion to begin the process of unnaming our school, which is being put forth tonight. Our school's namesake perpetuates a harmful, racist legacy. We must do better. This is the first step.

In our GR2EVS class, we decided to have a Snow Themed Day! We had extra time outdoors, made some predictions about our melting snow during Science, wrote about being a Snowman at Night, and are excited for some Winter Art this afternoon!❄⛄️@EVS_YRDSB #EVSLearning #VirtualSnowDay
I just read this in class with my Ss. I got teary-eyed as I watched the faces of the little girls in my class light up when I told them she is not only the 1st female VP, but the 1st Tamil and Black VP as well. Their reactions were pure joy. @EVS_YRDSB #TamilHeritageMonth
Since Spring, the #4BigQuestions panel has pushed my thinking, forced me to question my practices, & helped me re-imagine an anti-oppressive education system. I can't think of more important work or learning right now than this. I am beyond grateful, and completely invigorated!
