Just crunched the numbers. Democrats will have complete control of 21 states and DC, with a total of 273 electoral votes. That means that they can abolish the Electoral College without constitutional amendment. We will never have another non-Democrat President. Thank you for saving democracy!

We just gave Democrats a history making victory because Republicans were killing us by a thousand cuts. And Hakeem Jeffries first order of business is to find common ground with those same Republicans. I can't do this again. This is Garlandism.

My new fear is that Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, the most famous graduates of Merrick Garland’s popular course, ‘How to Accomplish Absolutely Nothing While Holding Office for Years’ will squander Democrats’ opportunity to prosecute wrongdoing and remake our government.

Jon Stewart comes out against Chuck Schumer as Senate Majority Leader
Jon Stewart on Chuck Schumer: “Someone has to meet this moment. You have an opportunity to actually govern. One of the first things you need to do is remove that system of seniority from Democratic politics. It’s a bullshit system and it needs to go. Chuck Schumer fought tooth and nail against half of these fucking people. He does not understand the urgency of the moment and what the future demands”

I've been on this site since 2009, & being political, I've see many campaigns here, grass-roots activism, born of some seismic issues. But I've never - ever - seen anything as intense, full-bore, & well-informed - & as clearly correct - as the rejection of Schumer & Jeffries.

Pay attention. Donald Trump has named Stephen Miller Chief of Staff While @hakeemjeffries is talking about no accountability for Trump admin crimes AND not impeaching Trump. Do you see what's happening? Jeffries & Schumer are weak and will squander Tuesday's historic night.

Indivisible calling for Democrats to oppose Schumer leadership. They're out with a new memo today: "A coronation would be an admission that they aren’t ready to meet the moment. Everyone with a Democratic senator – including those with newly-elected senators on their way to DC – should be demanding a contested leadership election, not a cleared field for Schumer."

“Americans don’t want us to get even; they want us to get things done.” — Hakeem Jeffries This is precisely why he and Chuck Schumer shouldn’t be the party’s leaders. People want both, and if they’re not willing to use the power they’ve been given, they need to get the fuck out of the way and let someone who will.

Both Jeffries and Schumer fundamentally misunderstand this moment. No, actually, we don't want to find "common ground" with the fascists who just spent the last 2 years trying to kill us.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said that his party is “ready, willing and able to find bipartisan common ground” in order to work with Republicans on the ongoing affordability crisis. abcnews.visitlink.me/ymEF7Q

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries failed so dramatically as Minority Leaders that Trump was able to easily start a war, bankrupt the economy, and form an illegal private army of goons to brutalize and murder American citizens. The entirety of the past two years, they have been directly complicit in the terrors of the Trump administration by capitulating to him at every turn, while attacking any leftist trying to stop him, and pushing dead-end candidates like Haley Stevens. Get these fucking people away from the levers of power before they can do even more damage.

Schumer and Jeffries are ineffective. They must set their egos aside and step out of the way. It's time for others to lead.

Democrats finally stumbled into momentum, and now Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer are poised to throw it all away. The party can't claim to fight for working people while being led by politicians widely viewed as beholden to AIPAC's checkbook. New leadership isn't optional. It's overdue. @SenateDems @HouseDemocrats
