Reading in the @guardian today that in 18 months of the war in Ukraine, Russia has killed over 7,000 civilians. It’s become normal to see Russia accused of targeting civilians, breaching the rules of war and of acts of terrorism against the people of Ukraine. The West has responded with unprecedented economic sanctions, weapons supply, and calls for a complete withdrawal from occupied land.
Meanwhile, in the Middle East - 50 years into an illegal occupation - Israel has killed nearly 7,000 civilians in less than 18 days! Ordered 1 million to leave their homes and cut off food, water and power to a trapped nation. And promise more is to come. Look at how ‘the West’ responds to this - to call it double standards feels inadequate.

The Higgypop Paranormal website gets upwards of 500k pages read each month. Around 33% of those readers come from the United States, 24% from here in the UK, and the rest spread across pretty much every country in the world.
These figures aren't surprising when you realise we've been publishing content for 20 years and have produced over 5,000 pages, that's 3.2 million words - three times the word count of the whole Harry Potter series.
We know that with so much content, pages inevitably get lost and buried on the site. So, we'd love to know what you think we could be doing differently. There's no wrong answers.

Life in steerage class was pretty rough. Passengers endured cramped sleeping quarters and survived on ship's biscuits 🚢
Still, it was bearable as long as they got on with each other. The biggest problem for most people wasn't the food or beds - it was their fellow passengers 🙄
