Court Street in Brooklyn has 23 percent fewer crashes since the bike lane went in, NYPD data show. See CrashCount.nyc

almost got right hooked biking to the bank, fell over, and spilled my wad of singles on the street like Sonic getting hit by a badnik
I love that people are advertising insurance fraud schemes out in the open yet @NewYorkStateAG @BrooklynDA canβt seem to figure out how to investigate or interrupt it.
Seeing a lot of out-of-state plates recently?
This form of insurance fraud has soared under Gov. Hochul to more than $50 million per year, with out-of-state plate scams more than doubling, according to the stateβs own figures. buff.ly/TYyIbEB
This is apparently just some good old fashioned βapoliticalβ campaigning to the βapoliticalβ reporters at the NYT.

βShe presents herself and her credentials in a very apolitical way,β said John Faso, a former Republican congressman and lawyer who endorsed Ms. Komatireddy. nytimes.com/2026/10/26/nyregβ¦
Brother, they wouldnβt take it seriously then either.
A pedestrian who was nearly killed by a hit-and-run driver in Midtown this summer only learned later β after weeks of silence β that the NYPD had closed the 'open-and-shut case' without finding the perpetrator. buff.ly/Otq7uXf
Yes, Nicole. Imagine if someone advocated for the city to abolish a detrimental, tourist-trap industry with significant negative externalities and even occasional deaths. Thatβd be wild.

Nearing month 5 of this hazard. Is there going to be a City Charter amendment I can vote on this Election Day that will result in anyone in city government caring about fixing issues like this? Do I need to sign up for and learn how to use TikTok to get the mayorβs attn?
I am largely unsympathetic to drivers in the city, but not putting up any signs or even a flagger to warn cars that they are driving into a dead end of streets blocked for road work and have only one way out (from the direction they came) is pretty inexcusable. Endless honking.
This remains an embarrassment.
Love that this is just never going to be fixed and we as taxpayers are going to have to pay out the inevitable lawsuit damages when someone is injured by this hazard, which is well-known to the city. @StreetsblogNYC @dahvnyc

Oh my god this utility grate is BACK OPEN. What is going on? Can someone in city or state government please help with this? @NYC_DOT @nick_benson @vinbarone @madlabz @CMAlexaAviles @alexaforcouncil @agounardes @Sen_Gounardes Someone is going to get injured riding into this.
Another great @NYCMayor infrastructure fix of low-hanging fruit. After years of failed, half-hearted attempts to fix the pooling issue on the Brooklyn Bridge bike lane, @NYC_DOT regraded the roadway and now it drains. Bon voyage Lakes Gutman, Ydanis, and Polly. cc @StreetsblogNYC
The terrible news about the teenager killed on 14th street reminded me about the motor scooter rider killed by City Hall/the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge bike lane (one of the most surveilled spots in the city). Did we ever get surveillance footage of what happened there?

Itβs a Labor Day weekend miracle! Shout out to the @ConEdison social team for escalating this until it was (eventually) fixed.
We do not have civilian control of the NYPD and every day our elected leaders contort themselves into pretzels pretending otherwise. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/09/β¦
Man, it only took one night of being forced to bike across the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian boardwalk while the bike lane gets paved to remind me how great of an improvement the dedicated bike lane is. Thanks again, @BilldeBlasio @Pollytrott.
