My new op-ed piece: Christian churches today do not exist to advance MAGA, Republicans, Democrats, or any political party — but instead to proclaim King Jesus, make disciples, love our neighbors, and embody God’s justice and mercy. share.google/fGKzmbA0hqf30o2…

Most leaders were never taught how to evaluate themselves. LeaderScore™ is a free look at 8 areas of leadership. It takes about 10 minutes. timparsons.me/leaderscore/

I've never met a leader who planned to burn out. I've watched it happen in a hotel, a hardware store, a copy shop, a college and a nonprofit. The leaders who care most are often the ones running on empty. timparsons.me/leading-on-emp…

No matter how you vote, you are welcome in our church. I just ask that you would commit to see politics thru Jesus & not Jesus thru your politics; that you would be curious about why your brothers & sisters see things differently. And that you would live humble, prayerful lives.

I built a free leadership assessment called LeaderScore. Before I share it more widely, I'm looking for about 10 leaders to try it and tell me honestly what they think. It takes about 10 minutes, plus a 3-minute feedback form. Want in?

Most misunderstandings come down to what the person was feeling when they spoke, more than the exact words they used. Next time a conversation gets tense, try naming the emotion you think you're hearing first: "Sounds like you're stressed." via Lori Gottlieb

I propose we move from: “You’re not a true Christian if you vote for ________.” To: “You’re not a true Christian if you don’t follow the Sermon on the Mount.” It’s time we measured Christian faithfulness not by political allegiance but by allegiance to Jesus & his teachings.

One reason many Evangelicals easily separate the President’s character from his policies is they’ve long been conditioned to separate character from belief. For too many, how you live matters less than whether you believe the “right” things. A destructive form of Christianity.
