Spinal anesthesia in infants is a cartilage target, not a bone one. Palpation gets you close. Ultrasound gets you in — interlaminar window, ligamentum, dura, all visible before the needle moves. Ultrasound should be considered as a primary approach or a rescue. (RAPM 2023)
