One thing I've noticed is that people often appreciate honesty until it challenges something they've already convinced themselves to believe. It's interesting how the same truth can be praised when it comes from someone we agree with and rejected when it comes from someone we don't. Maybe being open-minded means being willing to reconsider even the opinions we're most comfortable with.

I genuinely don't understand people who demand loyalty but cannot practise honesty.

Sometimes I wonder whether people realise how much their small decisions reveal about them. Character isn't always exposed through major events; sometimes it shows in the simplest moments.
