Most crypto memes are just a JPEG with zero story. They pump, they dump, and they’re forgotten by next week. No roots. No world. No reason to care once the chart stops moving. I believe the opposite, memes with real lore eventually rise. The ones that have history, characters, comics, and an actual universe behind them compound over time. The community has something to build on. The narrative has weight. That’s why I’m betting hard on LUKEand HARDFORK the original Monerocats, the $XMR mascots. Luke the Moonshot has been the masked orange cat of Monero since 2014. This isn’t another random cat on Solana. In crypto, we’ve become so accustomed to chasing the next big thing that we’ve sometimes forgotten what holding really means.
The market moves quickly. People come and go. Holders disappear when excitement fades, charts turn red, or the next trending coin catches their attention.

Monero Cat (aka Luke the Moonshot) is the actual OG mascot of Monero. It was introduced in 2014 (HitBTC post), then became the star of a full 44-page comic series in 2017 drawn by the original artist Luis Buenaventura (@helloluis). The artist is actively onboard — he’s creating new content, holds supply, and the official site (monero-cat.xyz) is live. Holders of $LUKE earn XMR rewards and it’s paired with XMR.
