One of the things thatβs so aggy about this whole thing is that some of you arenβt getting is that colourism gives people opportunities. There are plenty of people as talented and honestly more talented as her. Plenty. She simply was given an opportunity to showcase herself

Colorism is everywhere. In India, In Korea, In Mexico, in America. Everywhere and the darker you are the worse itβll be for you

And colourism affects men and women differently, that's why dark skin men are seen as hyper masculine and fetishized

Casting Cynthia Hellnono as Afeni Shakur is a slap in the face to her legacy. She was a BLACK PANTHER. That other bald headed lady despises Black Americans. Highly disrespectful.

Smh. That system completely affected their lives. Only lighter skinned ppl were given favorable jobs some of them govt positions which allowed it to perpetuate. There was no upward mobility for dark skinned people.

Attractiveness is the LEAST important aspect of colorism. Everyone dilutes it down to the pretty privilege talk, when in reality colorism affects people in REAL ways such as resources, jobs, life or death situations, incarceration, access, healthcare systems, etc.
