A while back I shared a small pet project I’d built for myself to tweak my resume quickly: Less Resume (link below). It was a bit rough around the edges, but it did the job. I was honestly surprised when a few people started using it and messaged me asking for fixes.
The idea was simple. There are plenty of apps for making a basic resume, but almost all of them want something first: a subscription, an account, or a one-off payment just to export. I wanted something I could open, fix and download in a couple of minutes, without trying to remember which tool I’d used last time.
I’ve just shipped an update:
- A much nicer UI, with proper animations.
- A completely new PDF export. Instead of html2canvas + jsPDF, it now renders on the server with headless Chromium, using the same layout you see in the editor. The PDF matches the preview exactly, the file is small, and the text is real, selectable text, so ATS systems can read it.
It’s still deliberately simple and minimal. It does the job for me, so hopefully it’s useful to someone else too.
I’m busy with a few bigger projects, but resume history and versions, AI proofreading and writing help, and optional accounts are on the roadmap.
What won’t change: you’ll always be able to use it without an account to make or edit a resume quickly, and that will always be free.
i couldn't afford the first iPhone when it came out, so i saved up for a long time and got one used with a cracked screen. i was so happy just holding it and playing with the multi-touch screen.
i've had every single generation since (except the 18 Pro/Duo).
i truly believe Apple does the best industrial design and the most human-centered UI, and no one does it better. they completely reinvented smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops, and wireless headphones, and they keep doing great stuff.
i'm only on Android right now because i got bored and i'm in my tinkering era. i know i'll switch back to iPhone eventually, until i get bored again lol.
the Duo is weird, but i'm glad it exists. people who wanted a foldable but never wanted to leave the iOS ecosystem finally have a solid option. and people who've been using Android foldables will now have way more developers optimizing their apps for foldables on both platforms.
in 2007, the moment i saw the first iphone, i applied for a job at a local pizza hut to save up and buy it. i was 17.
in 2010, i pulled over on the side of a highway to watch the ipad keynote. that’s how impressed and excited i was.
i haven’t missed a single apple keynote or event in 20 years. so yeah, when i say something is wrong with their products, it doesn’t come from random hatred, it comes from caring enough to be disappointed.
that being said, apple at its lowest point is still light years ahead of the rest of the industry when it comes to designing and manufacturing products with deep care for the people who use them. and i have no doubt they’ll get it right in future updates.
in the Bay Area till the end of the week and will prob swing by the Android dev conference. if anyone wants to grab coffee or is looking for a UX engineer/dev hmu
New iPad mini
- OLED panel (no ProMotion support, so it's still 60Hz)
- Thinner
- A20 Pro
- $699+ (starts from 128GB)
- There's a nano-texture option
- Only midnight and starlight colors
i'm not a fan of one ui and ios looks way better, but surprisingly, i like the actual design of the z fold 8 a lot more than the duo
just updated my personal website, please feel free to poke around. the desktop version has more going on than mobile btw.

to everyone buying the iPhone Duo out of FOMO, i can guarantee you'll feel the same way in a year when they release the new model.
there's a lot to improve, and Apple will definitely polish the hinge, ditch the matte screen, put in better cameras, bring the weight down, etc. new generations will be miles ahead of this one.
if you want a phone that'll still feel like "meh, i can use it for one more year," get the 18 Pro / Max.
there's a Russian blogger, Romancev, who got the iPhone Duo early, 3 days before official sales started. it's not the first time either (i think he also got the iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPad M5, and MacBook Pro M5 ahead of release), but oof, he has no idea what to do with them and it's so funny.
he paid $20k to get the Duo, didn't make a proper review, all the other big reviewers (like MKBHD) posted their videos at the same time anyway, and then Apple blocked his iPhone. i get that he could've been the first reviewer in Russia, but he just can't make a proper review... cause he's bad at it.
same thing when he got his hands on the iPad Pro M5. he posted a video claiming it had an extra camera, and it turned out he'd mixed it up with some sensor.
i just can't. it's so funny how incompetent some people are, and how they waste opportunities like this just for stupid hype (and yeah of course I understand he gets his views and $$$).
this is a hate post btw, cause he once stole my AirPods thread word for word and posted it on his channel.
Dude's been trying to make Grok bot agree with him under his own post is the funniest thing I saw today.
Did Elon Musk really try to buy his own personal U.S. Senator? Or is James Talarico lying? @grok
stopped by the Apple Store to try the iPhone Duo and i have kinda mixed feelings.
what i liked:
- the opening mechanism. it's good, definitely one of the best i've ever tried. better than Samsung's and WAY better than the Pixel's
- unfolded in portrait it feels great, like a sturdy little tablet
- the animations. every interaction, from opening it to multitasking, is on another level. it's just great
- the weight. it's heavier than the Fold 8, but i kinda liked it. not sure how it feels after a long day, but it's fine
what i didn't:
- folded mode is kinda weird. i don't love the asymmetry, the sidebar takes up a lot of space, and i wish it was a bit taller. just a little
- the matte screen felt like it had noticeably worse color accuracy. i love matte screen protectors and i'm used to the grain that comes with them, but i'm not sure i'd pick a matte screen if it was the only option
- the cameras (but that's a foldable thing, nothing surprising)
- the on-screen keyboard on the big screen. maybe i'm just too used to the one on my Z Fold, but i wish the height was adjustable
overall it felt like a great tablet and a not-so-great phone. i'm not sure it's worth $2,000 for the average person. you either really have to want a good foldable tablet in your pocket that can handle some stuff on the go, or be a real enthusiast.
but yeah, it's definitely a great device. it's nice to hold, has the best animations and UI responsiveness, a quirky folded mode, and plenty left to improve and polish. i'm glad Apple finally entered the market, and we'll probably see more good features on both Android and iOS foldables because of it.
iPhone Duo not being available anywhere fully reminds me of the iPhone X release day in the US. It took me a week or so to find and buy one in the local stores.
I am not really planning on getting the Duo, but I keep checking its availability, you know, just in case.
feel free to reach out if you run into any bugs or need any extra features

Yet another AI-related person to be played by Yura Borisov if they ever greenlight an Anthropic movie.
