Yet none of that changes a fundamental reality: within its internationally recognized borders, Israeli democracy remains vibrant and inclusive of citizens from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. The idea of a Jewish and democratic Israel is both legitimate and credible, and has been successfully practiced in tandem.

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%.
FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours.
Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis.

From hiding from the Nazis to winning a Nobel Prize!
Henri Kagan, a 95-year-old Jewish scientist, has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
As a child during the Holocaust, Kagan and his family survived by hiding under assumed names in a small village in southern France.
After the war, he devoted his life to chemistry, eventually becoming one of the world’s leading researchers in his field.
In 2001, he received Israel’s prestigious Wolf Prize alongside two scientists who went on to receive that year’s Nobel Prize. Kagan, however, was overlooked.
Now, 25 years later, he’s finally receiving that recognition, sharing the Nobel with Japanese scientist Kenso Soai for discoveries with important applications in modern medicine.
A Jewish child who once had to hide his identity just to survive is now being celebrated for his contributions to humanity.

I'm a Michigan voter, a Jew, and a lifelong Democrat who will not be voting for Abdul El-Sayed. He supports the most repressive, fascist, genocidal regimes in the Middle East because they oppose Israel, which contains half the world's Jews.
Telling me to vote for him "for the greater good" would be akin to telling a Black voter to support a member of the Klan.
El-Sayed may speak the language of progressives, but he has only one agenda, and it isn't free stuff for everybody ... or whatever.
History lesson: The Islamist/socialist partnership in the Iranian Revolution ended with the socialists executed along with the Jews.
