ooo okay so, dick is a lot like bruce in the sense he keeps his civilian and hero persona pretty separate compared to say, jason, who doesnt like. At All 😭 dick carried a lot of shame after dropping out of college and projected a lot of it on bruce, he didnt feel good enough for

smth thats rlly interesting about dicks withdrawal to me is that, as his visits to the manor/cave gradually lessen after jason becomes robin, he also appears less and less in civvies and more and more as just nightwing

the gradual retreat dick makes as he feels his role in bruces life shrinks, esp after jason becomes robin, is IMPORTANT!! jasons gradual isolation throughout his entire robin run to the point he has ONE attachment by the end, when he had multiple at the start, is IMPORTANT!! PLS!

also idk how many ppl clocked this but nightwing #105-106 are supposed to be a “retelling” of crocs first appearances, aka jasons pre-crisis origin, its a really REALLY bad one but thats. what it is LMFAO 😭

Don't actually hate Nightwing but even if I did slutshaming is misogynistic rape culture I'd refuse to rely on that to slander characters I don't fw ???

The parallel between Artemis wanting to do a better job than Diana and be a better Wonder Woman using her own methods to get rid of crime in Boston and Jason wanting to be better than Batman at reducing crime in gotham by doing it in his own way just hit me on a random monday

the reason jason and dick didnt have many on panel interactions during jasons og robin run is bc it was the 80s so DC wasnt giving just anyone a solo yet and they were on separate titles, not bc they barely knew each other or had a strained relationship

but the keyword to all of this is its GRADUAL!! everyone wants to be super 80s jaybin pilled but continues to fall for post-death propaganda that he was lonely the whole time—no!! he had connections, not a ton but they existed, he just LOSES them before hes murdered!! PLEASE 😭😭

id blame this on moench actually bc while wolfman does a decent job of implying dick going back and forth is happening off panel moench does not…but i cant bc ik how 80s batoffice fuckery worked in the mid 80s 😒 still annoying tho like CMON LEN

MOURNING AVATAR KORRA ☆ mak@BLUEM4CKERELOct 27
they think of jaybin laughing and say he saw robin as game. him sympathizing with victims, he was too angry. him running up to do homework, he didnt train hard enough. his death is superimposed onto every memory of his life with bruce but also every memory is already
MOURNING AVATAR KORRA ☆ mak@BLUEM4CKERELOct 27
reading the little friend and obviously im making #jaynnections and thinking of how this is the opposite of how jay was remembered
