I donāt see many people talking about a scenario like this, but itās definitely one worth considering.
Back in 2023, BTC consolidated for roughly 7 months before eventually breaking out of its range and going on to
establish a new ATH.
Considering that cycles are becoming progressively shorter, I donāt expect BTC to range that long again. However, even a compressed version could still take 3-4 months to fully play out.
From here, I could see BTC first retesting the $79k-$80k breakdown area before rejecting and sweeping the September low.
That could then trigger the long awaited expansion towards $87k, where breakout buyers are likely to step in and potentially get trapped.
One final move back towards the range lows could then follow, shaking out late longs one last time before the actual expansion begins and BTC finally leaves this range behind.
$BTC
Patience wins in this game.
After extended periods of consolidation in bull markets, expansion eventually follows.
Price has now slowly been grinding lower for the past month and a half, and at this point, downside is limited.
Sooner or later, we will see the next explosive move to the upside, whether you like it or not.
Itās your decision whether you stay patient enough to be positioned for it or get shaken out instead.
$BTC
Youāre simply not prepared for the kind of short squeeze weāre soon going to see.
Over the past 2-3 months, futures CVD has moved lower aggressively while open interest has continued to build.
This suggests that perps have been heavily leaning short, with futures CVD now sitting around levels last seen near the bear market bottom.
If spot demand starts picking up from here and selling pressure begins to fade, I believe these shorts could quickly become fuel for a major move back to the upside.
There is a lot of leverage waiting to get squeezed, and once momentum shifts, I expect the move to be violent.
$BTC
After front-running the previous low, price has bounced strongly off the lower boundary of this range and is now testing our mid range S/R level around $77.6k.
The reaction at this level will likely decide whether further upside from here is possible.
If buyers are able to reclaim the grey zone, we should see a continuation towards the previous high at $78.8k.
Should sellers, on the other hand, step back in here and keep price below this area, we will likely revisit the lows soon.
$BTC
This is actually insane.
Short liquidations currently outweigh long liquidations by roughly 2:1, yet one more push lower seems possible.
If price drops to $74k, another $5B in long liquidations would get triggered.
However, beyond that, thereās not much liquidity left below, which is why a final sweep lower followed by a larger reversal remains my main scenario.
$BTC
There is absolutely nothing to worry about.
The bottom is in, and this correction is close to being over.
We might sweep the $75k low or even retest the low $70ks, but ultimately, weāre going a lot higher.
Anyone who doesnāt accumulate as much BTC as they possibly can within the grey zone will get left behind
soon and regret not acting on one of the best buying opportunities left in this cycle.
I personally have already deployed roughly 90% of my capital and am looking to increase my spot exposure one last time if we sweep the previous low around $75k.
Iāll see you after the next leg up. No doubt about itā¦
$BTC
Looks like weāre forming a LTF range after last weekās selloff.
Price has now first swept the lows and then the highs, but so far continues to consolidate between $76.5k and $79k.
These are now the two key levels to watch and should offer some good scalping opportunities.
If we get a sweep of the lows followed by a close back inside the range, itās valid to take a long.
$79k, on the other hand, remains strong resistance and will likely offer a great short opportunity as long as the lows remain unswept.
Unless we get a confirmed breakout in either direction, these should be your best trade opportunities.
$BTC
Interesting.
Both spot and futures CVD are grinding higher, yet price is still getting rejected hard from the $79k area.
This creates a bullish CVD divergence and is considered an early sign of a potential reversal.
Of course, this doesnāt guarantee a move to the upside and weāll still have to wait for structure to confirm the move, but itās definitely something worth keeping an eye on.
$BTC
BTC is once again trading between two larger liquidity clusters.
The one to the upside sits right above $79k and lines up well with my area of interest for shorts.
In case of a sweep, I will look for additional confirmation to enter a short targeting the recent lows around $76k.
On the downside, however, we have two clusters that stand out.
First, some short term liquidity around $77.5k to $76.5k, followed by another cluster sitting deeper around the previous HTF low at $75k.
Iām expecting all of these clusters to get taken out sooner or later, but Iād prefer a move into the upper cluster first, as that would trigger my short scenario.
$BTC
The two main levels Iām watching for a bounce are the 0.5 Fib level and the Golden Pocket.
During larger pullbacks in bull markets, price tends to respect these levels really well.
Looking at the past cycle, you can actually see that price bounced off one of these two levels during every single correction we saw.
Considering that most of the remaining downside liquidity sits right below the previous low at $75k and pullbacks are getting shallower each cycle, I favor a bounce from the 0.5 Fib level.
However, a retest into the Golden Pocket is also something that wouldnāt surprise me and a scenario Iām prepared for.
For now, weāll have to wait for price to approach $75k and see how it reacts right after the sweep.
If bearish momentum continues to be strong, we might see a continuation lower, while if buyers immediately step in, this could be the local bottom.
$BTC
Weekly close is only a few hours away and, from what it looks like, itās most likely going to be below our key support level at $79k-$80k.
A bearish close like this would significantly increase the chances of revisiting the pmL, which so far remains unswept.
With that in mind, Iām expecting price to first retest the grey zone at the start of next week, followed by one last push to the downside to take out this low.
If we do get that sweep, I donāt think price will spend much time below $75k and instead expect a strong impulse to the upside shortly after.
Thatās why Iām looking to capitalize on both sides of this move by shorting a possible retest of $79k-$80k, while my bids for a long around $75k are already placed.
$BTC
So far these two fractals look almost identical.
The only thing that is noticeably different is the timespan in which this larger correction took place.
Back in 2023, price established a higher high around $25k and then proceeded to dump roughly 22% over the next 22 days.
This time, weāve so far seen a pullback of roughly 12% from the local top within 40 days.
Considering that cycles continue to evolve and drawdowns generally become less severe as the market matures, I wouldnāt expect another correction this deep.
Instead, what I think is most likely is a short deviation below the previous low around $75k, followed by a strong impulse to the upside.
$BTC
Interesting.
Looking at the past four monthly opens, we can see that they all played out in a very similar way.
First, price trended lower into the monthly close, which was then followed by an inverse move right after the start of the new month.
Those reversals produced an average move of roughly 7% to the upside within the first few days after mO.
This time around seems to be no different.
We are once again seeing a slow bleed ahead of the monthly close, and if this pattern continues to play out, we could see a move back into the $80k region over the course of next week.
$BTC
The path is clear. We just have to stay patient.
Due to the recent selloff, the majority of downside liquidity has now been taken out.
On the upside, however, huge amounts of fresh liquidity have built up that will sooner or later get targeted.
For now, we just have to stay patient and wait for selling pressure to fade before buyers can start pushing price back up.
$BTC
A sweep of $75k seems quite likely.
Back in September, we saw the previous leg up where price pushed into the yearly open region, rejected and
left behind equal highs right around $87k.
Since then, price is down roughly 12% from the local top and has now broken below our key support level at $79k.
Considering that the pmL remains untouched and this monthly candle is likely to close below support, a sweep of this low becomes increasingly likely.
A potential scenario Iām therefore observing is that we see another dump right at the monthly open where price briefly deviates below $75k, followed by a bounce back into the $80k region.
$BTC
No signs of strength yet.
Both spot and futures CVD continue to trend lower, suggesting that sellers are still in control.
For a sustainable bounce, I would like to see spot demand pick back up while futures selling starts to fade.
If that doesnāt happen, downside pressure will likely continue and a sweep of $75k remains quite possible.
$BTC
$77k-$79k liquidity cluster swept āļø
As expected, we first saw the anticipated bounce from the ascending trendline, followed by a sweep of the local highs.
Shortly after, price sold off aggressively, breaking below our key level around $80k and tapping into the lows of the previous range.
This is the area BTC now needs to hold. Otherwise, a deeper pullback into the low $70k region or even towards the previous ATH at $69k becomes possible.
Iām expecting this area to hold, which is why my overall thesis hasnāt changed.
I still think weāll see BTC trading above $90k this year, but for now, we just have to endure this capitulation.
$BTC
Everything is pointing towards another expansion to the upside.
Price has now swept the lows several times while leaving behind multiple untouched highs.
For the past week spot has already started accumulating heavily again while perps are getting overly aggressive trying to push price lower.
At the same time sentiment remains completely bearish and people keep calling for lower prices.
These are exactly the type of conditions you see before another leg up.
Iām now positioned in two swing longs with $BTC and $SOL and remain confident in my thesis.

$BTC
Short squeeze incoming.
While BTC has been consolidating around the lows for roughly one week now, spot has been accumulating the entire time.
At the same time, open interest has been building up while futures CVD continues to move lower.
This suggests that perps have been aggressively opening new short positions, preventing price from moving higher.
As long as spot demand stays intact, I believe it is only a matter of time before these shorts get squeezed and help fuel the next aggressive move to the upside.
