I've just shared my hope for cancer care with my new MP so that everyone living with cancer in the UK receives the best care in the world. Will you send your hope to your MP and make your voice heard? campaigns.macmillan.org.uk/p…
Plus 2 more weeks on the Communities taskforce for Macmillan's org strategy. Crunch time for our final recommendations.
It's been a brilliant 3 months asking what it would take for us to work more equitably in communities. The org so needs this change:

And just 2 more days (touch wood, don't want to jinx it) completing 9 months of building works in our place. - a wild ride.
Saw this accurate meme on Insta for 'going into a renovation' vs 'coming out of a renovation'. Entrenched decision fatigue. What even is my taste?!
And finally, in a few weeks I'll be handing over to the brilliant @Jack_Wakefield to run Macmillan's Campaigns team.
It's a year of change politically + organisationally and I can't wait to see what he achieves with this marvellous team.
Cheering you all from the sidelines💪
2 more weeks before Family Leave starts for tot no. 2. Terrifying/exciting.
Surrendering to the impossibility of planning how it will work... And reminding myself that people have had multiple children for millennia. My midwife mentioned a local woman who'd had TEN 🤯
Any tips?
This year there will be a General Election. This is our chance to make the UK the best place in the world to grow up and put #ChildrenAtTheTable. Ask the next Prime Minister to be a champion for children – sign the petition now. act.childrenssociety.org.uk/…

Nice visual stunt here from @EmilyButler55 and @samaritans

We need politicians in Northern Ireland to get back to work, resume governing and start to fix cancer care.
The Cancer Strategy must be fully funded and implemented without delay.

As a family experiencing what its like to have a loved one go through cancer, I can tell you we certainly need multi year health budgets, a credible & funded workforce plan and investment in Cancer Nurse Specialists. We need an Exec for that.
Cancer services in NI need @niexecutive that’s the message from 90 cancer survivors and families.
What are we waiting for ? @macmillancancer
Feeling VERY proud of my excellent Northern Ireland colleagues who pulled off a massive stunt at Stormont today with 90+ people living with cancer.
Cancer survivors have criticised MLAs for "deserting" NI's health system.

Glad to come across this #DitchTheGingerBiscuit campaign.
While I am incredibly grateful to be pregnant again, I absolutely HATE the feeling of pregnancy with so much throwing up, fatigue & accompanying low spirits.
People saying 'have you tried ginger biscuits?' doesn't help!
Will you help us ensure that every HG sufferer has access to a healthcare professional equipped to treat the condition effectively?
Our #DitchTheGingerBiscuit campaign launches tomorrow! Find out how to get involved on our @BigGive page ow.ly/nrzv50PTLnC

This was a great session by @BreastDocUK. Getting cancer seems a little less terrifying (if that’s possible) once you know the incredible progress that’s being made in treatments. Bravo
Replying to @DipeshGopal
@BreastDocUK telling us about the advances in cancer:
➡️ circulating tumour DNA to detect recurrence
➡️ antibody dependent conjugates... cell-directed chemotherapy

#MacmillanPrimaryCareConf2023 - so enjoying being surrounded by bright and brilliant GPs, care coordinators and people living with cancer like the awe-inspiring Sbba.
A very optimistic event discussing what can be improved and all the innovations on the horizon 👌
Heart is breaking for what's happening in Gaza, Israel and the West Bank at the moment - so much horror on all sides
Big campaign win for the #SmokeFreeUK gang at @CR_UK - WELL DONE!
Campaigning works 💪
📢 #BreakingNews! @RishiSunak has proposed raising the age of sale of tobacco and announced new funding for tobacco control. We’ve been calling for this as part of our #SmokefreeUK campaign. This is a critical step to creating the first ever smokefree generation.
This wouldn’t be possible without the support of you, our campaigners and partners, who have helped achieve this moment for our #SmokefreeUK campaign. Today, we’ve come #TogetherAgainstTobacco to help prevent smoking related cancers for current and future generations. Together we are beating cancer.

If charities did this we’d end up saying virtually nothing at all about many issues that matter deeply to our beneficiaries, which would mean we were not pursuing our charitable purpose. Surely the issue is more about ‘how’ we participate in these debates.

So, so proud of this - of my incredible colleagues and our amazing volunteers who share their stories and their strength. And very grateful to No.10 for hosting their first #macmillancoffeemorning – at West Midlands, England
Yesterday, we welcomed Macmillan nurses, people affected by cancer and volunteers to Downing Street in aid of @macmillancancer Support.
