Achievement gives them exposure also. That’s why a certain 3rd gen grp stayed on their humble lane for so many years bc their fans won’t exert an effort on making their songs chart, even tho their faves have expressed many times publicly how much they want all of those.
Every artist cares about streams, charts and reach, even if they don’t constantly talk about it. Those things matter to their careers and longevity. Don’t take it out on BTS just because ARMY understands the assignment.
If your fandom decided those things didn’t matter, bought up CDs on day one and then did nothing else then that was your choice. Pretending streams and charts were meaningless was always going to bite you in the ass eventually.
Maybe ARMY isn’t “chart obsessed.” Maybe some of you just need to believe charts don’t matter because you haven’t gotten the results you want. 🤷♀️
