it’s crazy that people say fic authors aren’t open to critique bc that’s not it. we ARE. it’s called beta reading!!!! the issue w beta reading is it’s so hard to find someone who’s willing to do it and consistently (1/6)
don’t say anything at all.
it feels like basic decency, and a lot of people ignore that. just rude for no reason, only thinking about themselves and not the wider impact of what hurtful comments and critiques like those can do to an authors motivation and confidence (5/6)

everybody wants to “critique” (they mean review but do not know the difference) but none of them offers to beta. nobody offers to actually put in work as a critique partner. they don’t want to form relationships and community. they want to humiliate you for a quick dopamine fix
i gotta stop gushing about world trigger but i CAN’T! like asides from the incredible fights and strategy, the relationships between the characters are done so well!!!!! like both friendships and romance (as minimal as it is) (1/5)
