i genuinely wish i had the self control to take a break from this hell app, because now there's bpd discourse going around and its a fucking triggering nightmare as someone who has bpd. no i can't "control my thoughts" during a split what the fuck are you talking about.

just stumbled across this review of Wildwood where I am convinced that they walked into the wrong movie because literally none of this happens in this movie

I've seen so many gross takes about this. No, this isnt healthy, both for the person in need of help, AND the friends that tried to help. This person is clearly unmedicated, and in need of professional help. THIS IS NOT "SUICIDEBAITING" I hate this fucking term (🧵 1/?)

Bpd is more then just crashouts. It’s a lot of silent lonely suffering, beating yourself up over things from years ago, not letting yourself get close to people etc. We need help but we need understanding too, we didn’t ask for intense emotional mood swings.

3. When in a crisis, validate their feelings without validating their delusion. Do not focus on logic or facts until theyre calm. Focus on " it must feel so Isolating to feel that way" rather than "yeah nobody wants to talk to you because youre prone to attachment issues"

These are just my opinions based on having BPD. Not a dr. Just old.
1. Know what you can handle and be honest. Dont tell people youll always be there and then ignore. Youre validating their delusion that everyone will abandon them. Keep a healthy distance.

Based on the replies here, it seems people need some education. Hi. I have bpd complicated by cPTSD and potentially OCD. This person is spiraling, and although it is not the responsibility of their friends to fix them- I want to talk about how you can help 🧵

i hope you have a good day today and if it’s not good i hope you know that the pigeons still love you
Lots of BPD discourse on the tl and im just curious what people thought the ‘frantic and extreme lengths to avoid real or perceived abandonment’ in the diagnostic criteria meant. I don’t think it always looks like sagely asking for help within Twitter Acceptability margins
