Park Chan-wook will serve as jury president at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
• Park will become the first South Korean president in the festival's 79-year history. Wong Kar-wai is the only other Asian filmmaker to have headed the jury.
• He'll succeed French actor Juliette Binoche, whose jury handed out the Palme d’Or to Jafar Panahi’s Iranian drama “It Was Just an Accident.”
• Park has a long history with Cannes, winning the Grand Prize for his feature debut #Oldboy in 2004 and returning to the competition with most of his films since.
