Tried @Starlink on @United for the first time. Spectacular! At present, this is primarily on their regional jets. The two transatlantic flights were @PanasonicAero which has the highest latency I've ever seen on a flight. (Maybe their satellites are in lunar orbit?!?) United *was* my third-choice carrier; now, whenever a segment has Starlink, it is my first. EOY2027 can't come fast enough...

I received my Humane #AIpin today. For a 1G product, the hardware is surprisingly good. You can tell that some "adults" were involved in realizing that side of the product. However, it has a ways to go before it's consumer-usable -- @MKBHD is spot on about the usability issues. In a few weeks, my goal is to post a missive about where the architecture "went wrong". This is a critical, but not negative, remark about the AI pin 1G.

Despite my poor eye-hand coordination, I'm able to use the device. My first interaction: MTR: What is the cellular signal strength? AI pin: The cellular signal strength is currently at a good level. Of course, this isn't all that helpful. So: MTR: From now on when I ask about the cellular signal strength give me a number from 0 to 5 0 being no coverage five being excellent. AI pin: Memory created. When asked about the cellular signal strength, your Ai Pin will provide a number from 0 to 5, with 0 representing no coverage and 5 representing excellent coverage. A minute later: MTR: What is the cellular signal strength? AI pin: The cellular signal strength is currently at a good level, rated 4 out of 5. That is how an AI assistant should work...

Please allow me to vent my frustration. Tweetbot and a number of other third-party apps are now unusable because something changed on the Twitter back-end. No one outside Twitter knows what's going on. I am happy to pay extra to restore my Tweetbot access.

4/ Folks who use 3rd-party apps should-be/are willing to pay for the app. I don't see an issue in paying Twitter for a API access. (Of course, I am guessing here that this is about the popularity of those apps: I apologize in advance for assigning blame without much data.)

5/ The end of an era (3rd-party Twitter apps). I am keeping my Twitter subscription and plan to access the site via the browser (the Brave browser, of course). I hope my tired old brain will be able to adjust some neurons so I can switch to the UI.

2/ Some claim that it's only the very popular apps that are affected; others claim that it's the version of the API used by some apps that's broken. It could be neither, either or both. The lack of communication from Twitter HQ is frustrating.

3/ I like Tweetbot. I've been using it from "day one" and at my age, my brain doesn't adjust well to new paradigms. No offense intended (seriously!) but I simply can not manage the UX on either the Twitter website or their official app.

Some folks have asked why not outside of North America. It's the same reason that it's in the nightly build: we're evaluating the service, and this is a good way to make it available, but not wide-spread. i think of it as a "self-selecting invitation-only" system...
Our Nightly version for North America now features Brave Together, our private and unlimited video calling service based on open source @jitsinews. Click on the widget & start connecting with friends/colleagues. Feedback welcome at community.brave.com/c/nightl… for this trial version.

Technically, the only nightly channel we have is "desktop", but it would have been better to explicitly state that.
Replying to @brave @jitsinews
Sorry, two corrections: 1. I forgot to mention "desktop" brave only. 2. due to a mis-communication on my part, the widget won't be seen in Canada (yes, i know that Canada is in North America...). we're working on a fix for that. Mea culpa!

At the present time, we're doing desktop only... Sorry, we missed that in the original tweet.

Hey @AndrewSeiple ... when's the next Bunker Core coming out?

friends - i had a conversation with a rather wise person today, who suggested we start planting #victorygardens as a common sense way to do something positive as we shelter in place. let's get that idea trending... thank you!
