2QFY27 Concall Update
(CMP: Rs 317 | Mkt Cap: Rs 73,931 cr)
🔹 Cargo volumes reached 29.4 mn tonnes (+2% YoY) in 2QFY27 and 60.4 mn tonnes (+4% YoY) in 1HFY27. India operations grew 8% YoY, outperforming industry growth of 5% led by better utilization at Paradip coal terminal, NR Bulk, Mangalore Coal Terminal, plus interim operations at Tuticorin and Kolkata container terminal offset by Fujairah’s nil contribution and Jaigarh softness
🔹 Management expects domestic volumes to rise 8%–10% YoY in 2HFY27. Third-party cargo volumes in India grew 1% YoY, supported by improved terminal utilization and new operations at Tuticorin and Kolkata
Ports Business:
🔹 Revenue grew 9% YoY to Rs 1,202 cr; EBITDA increased 2% to Rs 594 cr. EBITDA margin declined to 49.4% from 53.1%, impacted by Fujairah disruption and a higher share of lower-margin coal terminals
🔹 Jaigarh and Dharamtar are expected to handle ~46 mn tonnes in FY27, with Jaigarh volumes expected to improve in 2H.
🔹 Secured a 30-year concession for the 13 MTPA Kolkata Outer Container Terminal and commenced interim operations at the 6.3 MTPA Kolkata Container Terminal.
Logistics Business:
🔹 Logistics revenue rose 72% YoY to Rs 279 cr, while EBITDA increased to Rs 81 cr from Rs 25 cr; margins expanded to 28.9% from 15.2%
🔹 Navkar Corp revenue grew 37% YoY to Rs 223 cr, EBITDA rose 36% YoY to Rs 33 cr and PAT increased 170% YoY to Rs 12 cr
🔹 Rail rake fleet expanded to 78 from 42, with a target of 110 rakes by Mar'27. Only 8 of the incremental 36 were deployed in Sept, implying materially higher utilization from Oct onward. 72 rakes operational since Oct, remaining 6 to be operationalized in Nov–Dec
🔹 FY27 Logistics EBITDA margin guidance raised to 28% from 24%, while retaining the Rs 400 cr EBITDA target due to revised accounting treatment of haulage charges.
🔹 Secured the LOA for Development of Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Kulipalaiyam, Tamil Nadu, further enhancing the company's logistics presence to 8 facilities across 5 states
🔹 Capex: FY27 capex spending is expected at Rs 5,000–6,000 cr.
Project Updates & Outlook
🔹 Port capacity target remains 300 MTPA by FY28 and 400 MTPA by FY30, versus current operational capacity of 186 MTPA
🔹 Slurry pipeline project is ~88% complete, with commissioning targeted for Mar'27
🔹 Jatadhar, Murbe and Oman projects are progressing, while Keni remains delayed pending environmental clearance
🔹 Fujairah operations remain uncertain due to weak storage demand; eight tanks were expected to commence operations in early November, subject to approvals.
🔹 Management remains focused on FY27 guidance, supported by 2H rail rake deployment, improving domestic port volumes and logistics growth

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd
(CMP: Rs 11,450 | Mkt Cap: Rs 3,60,634 cr)
Key Concall Takeaways
🔹Domestic wholesale volumes surged +37.8% YoY to a record, retail kept pace, leaving the company struggling to meet demand
🔹Unlike a typical pre-festive Q2 where wholesale runs ahead, retail demand matched wholesale, keeping network inventory low at ~17 days and pushing pending orders from ~2 lakh units at end of September, increased to ~270,000 units by Dussehra (20th October). Retail sales grew ~30% YoY from Onam to Dussehra and ~35% from Ganesh Chaturthi to Dussehra
🔹2HFY27 domestic volume growth guidance of at least 10% YoY for domestic sales
🔹Management noted that some geographies have declared drought, but the ground situation is better than reported
🔹Margins remain subdued as West Asia conflict-linked commodity increases and a shift in the commodity settlement cycle compressed profitability. The company shifted commodity price settlement from a quarterly lag to a monthly lag for some commodities in 1Q, so adverse impact in 2Q was limited; it is now moving partly back toward a longer lag to offset increases in copper and steel
🔹Company is contesting the steel price increases and intends to push back against recent steel price hikes
🔹Export volume growth impacted by logistics disruptions and shipping volatility from the West Asia conflict, a product and production line changeover for e-Vitara, and Mexico's duty increase from 20% to 50%. Underlying export demand is healthy
