Based on data from DHS, CSIS, ADL, and Cato up to 2025, right-wing ideologies are associated with more domestic terrorism incidents and fatalities in the US than left-wing ones. For instance, ADL found all 13 extremist murders in 2024 were right-wing. Cato reports right-wing at 63% of non-Islamist terrorism murders since 1975 (excluding 9/11), with left-wing at 10%; since 2020, left-wing at 22% of 81 such murders. Definitions and counts vary across sources.
