It may have been a joke in your mind but it was still disrespectful. You always take an opportunity to put us down, your prediction for the season was that Emery won’t last - and then you’re pushing for him to go to United.
The fact the league was Villa’s William McGregor’s brainchild aside, for 80 years(ish) Aston Villa was the most successful club in this country, before globalisation of the league became a thing, why can’t we dream of being a club that disrupts the so-called Sky Six etc and climb again? You want it for United, why not us? Biases.
You may occasionally praise us/Emery but you underestimate the bond we have with him. He came in and he said he wanted to make Aston Villa a family, and he’s done exactly that. We know he won’t be here forever, but we’re constantly seeing people belittling our club and you/the sports media expect no pushback to the disrespect we see every season about how Unai and certain players will want to step up to a United etc? Behave.

Labour are in trouble on this. And they clearly know it.
“Could he just outline where that reallocated capital spending will come from?”
Cue this rant at the Despatch Box from Wes Streeting to hide his discomfort at not knowing the answer to a straightforward question.
Stroppy, brittle and clearly not across the detail. Today the new Defence Secretary was found out.
Perhaps he should spend less time on his profile and more time getting on top of his brief?
The questions haven’t even got difficult yet.

Replying to @Carra23
You have praised Unai Emery many times, but that doesn't disregard that this is disrespectful, Jamie.
You played for Liverpool for 17 years, your best finish? 3rd. your worst? 8th.
Why can't we dream? Why can't we upset the "big 6" party? We're doing the impossible.
Financial restrictions? We still compete.
Lose half our squad? We still compete.
Congested schedule with Europe? We still compete.
We aren't going away, and Unai Emery isn't going to that rotten shithole. Don't even waste your time entertaining the idea.

Update on Eddie Howe and other candidates by
@LukeEdwardsTele
- There is no universal support for Howe to be given the United job, which has caused Howe to disengage from speculation about the links. He hasn't received any offer.
- Howe is Wilcox's first choice, but there is currently no consensus behind the scenes that he would be United's preferred candidate if Carrick leaves.
- Nagelsmann and Conte also have support, while some believe United should be more aggressive in targeting Emery or even Cesc Fàbregas.
- Carrick staying was partly motivated by a lack of a coherent strategy for his replacement + there's genuine desire to give him a chance.
- Howe would take the United job if offered, but doesn't think United will offer it to him.
- He's previously told those close to him that he would only consider returning to management at a club of Newcastle's size or bigger. Potential considerations include who has the final say on recruitment and whether he can bring his own staff (including Jason Tindall).

So the Independant Regulator is now looking into the financial situation at Burnley. Over £100m in debt with interest charges of over £13m a season from a ‘leveraged buyout’ and having never filed accounts since the takeover. Whilst the PL and EFL stop clubs who can afford to invest in their teams they allow leveraged buyouts and clubs to rack up debts into the 100’s of millions and even into the Billions.

This is astounding. The government's own figures show working-age welfare will go up by £60 BILLION by 2030, yet the Treasury has to rush out and correct the Chancellor to say there is no timetable for cutting the benefits bill. Looks like foot in mouth syndrome is spreading.
John Healey couldn't even find £10 billion to get defence spending to 3% of GDP - the thing he quit over.
Don't let anyone tell you this was a 'do no harm budget'. In doing so little, Labour have harmed our economic security and they've harmed our national security.
