My son got a call from daycare saying our granddaughter "started a union" with the other toddlers.
This was an actual phone call, not a joke, from the daycare director. Apparently my granddaughter, three years old, organized a sit-in during nap time because she decided nap time should be optional.
The director said, and I quote, "She got four other kids to refuse their mats, and when we tried to separate them, she said 'we are stronger together.'"
My son stood in his kitchen holding the phone, not sure if he should be worried or order her a tiny briefcase.
They resolved it by giving the kids a vote on story time versus nap time, democracy in action at the toddler level. My son just asked that next time they call before it escalates to collective bargaining.
