It’s still hard to talk about. I get tears every time there’s footage. I remember not knowing where my family was for 3 days. We gutted my grandparents’ home to the studs. And I remember the feeling of life coming back to the city with the return to The Dome.
20 years later, the return to the Superdome remains one of the most surreal moments.

A year ago, CDC made Cyclospora surveillance optional. It had been tracked for 28 years.
Today: ~3,000 cases across 31 states, no confirmed source, and CDC’s own count (843) is trailing what states are reporting by thousands.
Cases of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal infection caused by a parasite, are currently being reported in nearly three dozen states, according to an @ABC News tally. abcnews.link/TPc8HXf
