Putting this out here as a sign to tap when folks respond with "things are worse today" or "middle class shrinking" or other wrong ideas they have. Everyone should internalize and have these charts as core understanding of the world today. The time price of everything has gone down over this same time frame (see Superabundance). And while the middle class might technically be smaller, that is only because the upper class is much, much bigger. And fewer of us are in poverty. Globally, and nationally. Things are better.
The people who came before us met a grim and brutal world with integrity and the resolve to make it better. We critique this past from a morality only affordable in a society of abundance. In a foxhole, there are no atheists. In the jungle, there is no compassion. Be better.

Its been a whirlwind week, but I am so excited to share that we've established comms with Starburst-1, stabilized the spacecraft, deployed its solar array, and achieved power-positive status—all within hours of reaching orbit yesterday morning I can't emphasize enough how proud I am of this team. Successfully launching this incredibly high performing platform on its very first mission, having raised under $75M to date and still with under 60 people. All while maturing our larger Supernova vehicle and securing launch for a 2028 mission. This team is the definition of scrappy. So much more to do, but its been an unbelievable week

Satellite in space, doing space things Love to see it
I’m beyond thrilled to report that the Portal Space team quickly made contact with Starburst-1 after launch yesterday, established communication, stabilized the spacecraft, deployed the solar array, and are power positive on orbit!! More to come! geekwire.com/2026/portal-spa…

Spending a day in a warehouse on Black Friday is enough time to tell you that there is an imbalance in workers available vs the flood of holiday demand. Our partners have seen picking shifts and temps double overnight. Just like that. Staffing capacity for warehousing and 3PLs should be flexible and not constrained by local labor pool availability. That’s what we’re building at Avatar.

Digging out after 10 days in China Will write more / share more later Top of mind: 1 - energy is everything 2 - manufacturing is not won through cheaper humans but through excellence at manufacturing processes and built up industrial clusters around them 3 - robotics is not lost yet / needs real data at scale / this game is still open 4 - robotics hardware will be like ai models - all the money will be made in the applications and unique data sets on top of mostly commodity hardware assemblies

7 - China is more American than Europe - entrepreneurial, capitalist, big and ambitious thinking Cars are big, roads are big, hotels are great, AC is amazing, feels wealthier than much of Europe And much higher trust society (for them is at serious cost, but is nice too)

China is both more impressive and less advanced than you think. I spent a week visiting its leading tech and robotics companies. Extraordinary manufacturing scale. Brutal competition. Incredible hardware. But a huge gap between robot demos and real-world utility. My take: fabricegrinda.com/a-week-in-…

Today, @TIME featured our self-driving lab on its 2026 Best Inventions list. Materials will be what accelerates the possibilities of new inventions, not what slows them down. Congratulations to the entire @RadicalAI team on this achievement...the world-changing potential of Radical AI’s self-driving lab is something we’ve believed in for a long time. Today, a much larger audience is taking notice.

Very proud of our team — well earned. If you want to join one of the fastest engineering teams around, reach out.
Today, @TIME featured our self-driving lab on its 2026 Best Inventions list. Radical's self-driving lab discovers and develops novel materials at the speed of AI, enabling 10x more material discoveries per scientist. By combining AI, robotics, and experimental data, our high-throughput system can unlock advanced materials for new technologies. We are transforming how the world does science. #TIMEBestInventions time.com/collection/best-inv…
