Pakistani leftists—who sit well to the right of India’s BJP—are busy excavating the “why & how” of Pakistan’s founding. They have no meaningful say over Pakistan’s present or its future. Debating what Iqbal or Jinnah “really wanted” is an exercise in futility. The country exists as it is. Nothing will change in Pakistan in near future. Nothing.
A letter by Allama Muhammad Iqbal arguing that his idea was of a Muslim province within the Indian federation further suggesting that the idea of Pakistan originated in Cambridge and nothing to do with him. Worth researching into this document.

So, now that the Islamo-liberal alliance has defended the characterisation of the Constitution as fascist, will they still wave it as a weapon, and chant the Preamble as an incantation?

Word salad explained. When Marxists speak of Radical Democracy, it is the dog whistle for their new “Hegemony Strategy” by Ernesto Laclau and Chantel Mouffe.
I write on Sharjeel Imam as a committed democrat who deserves a place in a radical democratic project of the future, one focused on the liberty and equality of all. telegraphindia.com/amp/opini…

A Sanskrit music scholar in 13th century India worked out how to recover a particular arrangement of notes from its number in a list. Centuries later, Donald Knuth recognised the computer science in work like this. Yes, the Donald Knuth who wrote The Art of Computer Programming.... In an ACM interview, he recalled reading translations of 13th-century Sanskrit works and said some of those Indian musicians "would have been computer scientists if they were living today." His written history of combinatorics points to Sharngadeva's Sangitaratnakara, a Sanskrit treatise on music. The problem sounds musical: how do you systematically list the possible orderings of a set of notes? But the text goes further. Given an arrangement, find its position in the list. Given the position, reconstruct the arrangement. That second operation is worth pausing over. You have the number of an entry, but not the entry itself. How do you recover it without first writing out everything that comes before it? The methods use a representation based on factorials, with a table supporting the conversion. These operations are now called ranking and unranking: moving from an arrangement to its numerical address, and back again. This was not a Sanskrit verse that vaguely resembled a modern idea. It was a procedure for solving a precise problem, preserved in a music text. Knuth's interview does not name Sharngadeva. His separate written account does. There is no need to stretch that into a claim that modern computers copied the text. The remarkable part is already there: a medieval Indian music scholar working through the mathematics of finding one arrangement among many, in both directions. Sources: Sharngadeva, Sangitaratnakara, 1.4.60-71; Donald E. Knuth, "Two thousand years of combinatorics", Combinatorics: Ancient and Modern, OUP (2013); Knuth, ACM ByteCast, Episode 2; M. D. Srinivas, "Combinatorial Methods in Indian Music: Pratyayas in Sangitaratnakara of Sarngadeva". Photo 1 : Donald Knuth. Photo 2: His actual interview words about the Indian musicians who "would have been computer scientists if they were living today", highlighted in yellow. Photo 3: The key attribution page: Knuth explicitly names Sharngadeva's Sangitaratnakara and credits its earlier ranking/unranking algorithms and factorial representation. Photo 4: The technical explanation, highlighted: permutations of musical phrases, factorial representation, and the table for converting between a number and its representation.

This is like criticizing India for improving its railway infrastructure because some people miss the “authentic experience” of travelling on train roofs. 😭😂
India is building US-style expressways to move freight faster. But many truckers still prefer older roads, where food, repairs and rest stops are cheaper. Aryan Gupta explains what’s putting the country’s $130 billion bet at risk: bloom.bg/4Bn5lr4

India’s Ganges Water-Sharing Treaty with Bangladesh is set to expire soon on December 12, while the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan has been placed “in abeyance” indefinitely. Both these treaties confer rights without establishing corresponding responsibilities for downstream Pakistan and Bangladesh. Yet rights should come with duties, including obligations to uphold peace and security. In this essay, I suggest how India can embed new water-sharing arrangements with Pakistan and Bangladesh in separate peace frameworks by emulating the Israel-Jordan model. If Pakistan and Bangladesh want India to do what China refuses — agree to long-term sharing of river waters with any downstream state — they must at least accept verifiable commitments to peace under new water-for-peace arrangements. Water should become a peace dividend, not an unconditional entitlement. It must become a key incentive that sustains subcontinental peace itself. openthemagazine.com/india/wa…

Many of these hardliners in so-called Islamic states are so trapped in the stereotypical delusion that Muslims in India who support a secular society do so only to prove their Indianness. I genuinely wish these people could experience the freedoms and rights that a functioning democracy offers. I also wish those from our own country who advocate for such states could experience life under them firsthand.
Thank you Jinnah, for taking away the trash & filth.

Sharjeel Imam’s interview was the Sunlight, it exposed all the Jihadis crawling out to support his radical views. This guy would idolise Saeed Anwar and rejoice when India lost to Pakistan. No amount of word salad would justify.

The problem isn’t that AI is intelligent. It isn’t. The problem is that too many adults (but not all) are at once mechanistic, imitative, unimaginative, stupid, formulaic, influenceable, & gullible, arrogant beyond their skill set, & too expensive to maintain.

Sharjeel Imam’s assault on secular democracy seeks to demolish what remains of our republic. The wise response would be to do nothing: Endless colonial war on Wahabis taught the real danger was creating imaginary enemies impossible to defeat, I write theprint.in/opinion/security…

So it turns out that Ukraine's issues with Starlink were caused by Ukraine. Starlink terminals disconnected at speeds above 160 KPH, as determined by the Starlink terminals internal GPS. To get around this, Ukraine hacked the Starlink terminals to think they were stationary regardless of speed. SpaceX figured this out, and updated the system software to detect excessive speed by seeing how rapidly the terminal switched from on satellite to another. This broke Ukraine's hack, and Starlink would no longer work at high speeds. Ukraine was using Starlink in a way that violated the terms of service. Starlink figured it out and stopped it.

This is utter bullshit. Critiquing constitutional democracy and the foundations of a nation is neither normal nor acceptable. It's just another totalitarian fascist dictatorial idea. After making tall claims of saving the Constitution against such attacks by RSS and Hindutva for the last 12 years, people are suddenly justifying the same fascist ideas just because it's now coming from a Muslim radical. Some lunacy this is.
Much of the criticism (now) being directed at Sharjeel Imam comes from people who have never actually read his work. Even for those who have, critiquing a constitutional democracy and the foundations of the Indian nation-state is a normal part of political debate and academic discussion and not a crime. This constant demand for Indian Muslims to practice respectability politics simply to fit into the 'mainstream' discourse is deeply flawed, as it has entirely failed to prevent their political, social, and economic exclusion. Imam should never have been targeted by the state for his views, and after spending six years in prison on these bogus charges, he does not owe anyone an explanation.

China influenced, Pakistani infiltrated, brown sepoys staffed Bloomberg is asking why India is building amazing expressways like the US. I see this news with concern. This news by this media for me means DS is going to influence & instigate Truckers into protests blocking freeways to hit India's logistics, economy, and halt freeway construction. They are building public support for it at the earnest. Beware.

The most naive idiots in the world, sadly, often Indians, are those who actually believe it when someone says "We want peace." Islam never wants peace. The Chinese never mean it. Trump fakes it. Peace grows from strength only. Strength to crush those who don't want peace.

Blue collar workforce being incompetent is also a gift from the incompetent elites.. same blue collar workers work fine when trained and managed by others in other countries.. ALWAYS blame the elite. That is the least we can do..
India is the only country that has a solution for every high-end issue but struggles to provide a solution to low-end woes: urban planning, drainage, etc The reason: the blue-collar workforce is highly incompetent compared to global standards.

Complete volte face by @kawalpreetdu. She originally claimed that challenging Constitutional democracy is acceptable. After I called her out, she is trying to tone down her damning drivel. Now she calls it "constitutional designs" not "democracy". She realized how insane it sounds to justify an attack on democracy. I mean, bhaisaab, Sharjeel Imam ko democracy hi ukhad kar fenk na hai and this woman excitedly supported it. Just because this attack on democracy is not by Hindu right-wing but by a Muslim Right-Wing. Now carefully replacing her words with other drivel like "mainstream centrist dogmas of a constitution" "analyzing nation-state's decent into majoritarianism" and blah blah.
