SUPER JUNIOR will receive the Presidential Commendation at the 2026 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards. They will be the 3rd idol group to receive this award following TVXQ and SEVENTEEN last year. Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards (대한민국 대중문화예술상) is an annual South Korean government-run awards ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Korea Creative Content Agency. The ceremony, which was first held in 2010, "honor[s] those who have made a contribution to contemporary pop culture and the arts, including actors, singers, comedians and models." Now in its 17th year, the Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards is the government’s highest honor in recognition of contributions to the popular culture and arts industry. The awards aim to enhance the social status of popular culture artists—including singers, actors, comedians, voice actors, broadcast writers, and musicians—encourage their creative endeavors, and honor their contributions to the development of the popular culture and arts industry. This year, 10 individuals were selected to receive the Order of Cultural Merit, 7 individuals or groups the Presidential Commendation, 8 individuals or groups the Prime Minister’s Commendation, and 11 individuals or groups the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Commendation. The award show will be held on the 29th at the National Theater of Korea in Jung-gu, Seoul.
