Most of you know this story, but none of you have heard it from me. Back in September 2018, Femi Hamzat wanted to be Governor of Lagos State. He had thirteen years of public service under Asiwaju and BRF, with the record and backing to win. Then party leaders asked him to step aside for me. It takes a rare man to put down what he wants without nursing a grudge. Femi shook my hand and five weeks later, agreed to run beside me. I have never forgotten that. Anyone can read a CV but only the person in the room with a man when the cameras leave can tell you who he really is. For 2,711 days, I have been in that room with him. When COVID-19 hit, when we faced our hardest weeks, when the Blue and Red Lines ran and when the Lekki Deep Sea Port opened, Femi was there. Long before any ribbon was cut, he was asking the tough questions an engineer asks. In many states, deputies are kept in reserve. On day one, Femi promised to be the best deputy governor in Lagos history. He kept his word. In seven years, there has not been a single day I wondered whose side he was on. We have had one government, one direction, and one voice. Lagos runs on a relay system. The baton is never passed to a runner standing still. You run at full speed inside the exchange zone, together, before the pass. That is how Lagos has been governed for 27 years, from Asiwaju to BRF, to Ambode, to me. Femi is a deputy governor like no other. He built the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge under Fashola, digitized government under Asiwaju and holds a doctorate in engineering. His father served Lateef Jakande. This is in his blood. Critics say Lagos keeps choosing from the same pool. I say Lagos trains its people. With major projects underway and a master plan stretching to 2052, this is not the time to experiment. What Femi presents today is not a campaign promise cooked up on a bus, it is the next leg of a race we have been running since 1999. Lagos does not hand the baton to a man standing still. Today, you have seen the man who is already running. Let us move forward together with The Lagos PROMISE.

Could PO be APC’s VP candidate in 2031? Possible?
MY DANCE WHEN THE SUSPICIONS FINALLY BECAME CLEAR! From APGA to PDP, from Labour to ADC, and now to the platform of an Oga who will teach them politics! Sometimes, you don’t need to argue. Just watch the movement, connect the dots, and let time do the talking. Ẹni tí kò mọ̀ ọ̀nà, kó tẹ̀lé ẹni tó mọ̀ ọ̀nà! The one who does not know the way should follow the one who does. Gbam! The plot thickens. My dance is well deserved! Otunba Segun Showunmi The Alternative. @officialABAT @PeterObi

The entire country of Serbia has 6.6 million people. Less than the size of Lagos mainland. Could this play a part in the movement?
No power on earth can withstand the will of the people.

Trust the process. You cannot keep changing managers like shirts! Manchester United’s problem is bigger than the manager. Bring in another manager tomorrow, even Jürgen Klopp, and without addressing the underlying issues, you may eventually arrive at the same destination. The club must steady the ship from within. Look at Arsenal. When Mesut Özil became a problem, Arteta moved him out, and the club backed him. When Aubameyang crossed the line, Arteta stripped him of the captaincy and eventually let him go. Many of us hated those decisions at the time. But the club stood behind its manager. Manchester United is a great club. Give the manager the authority and backing to deal with indiscipline, inflated egos and whatever is undermining the dressing room. Sir Alex Ferguson understood this better than most. When his relationship with David Beckham deteriorated, even a global superstar was not bigger than Manchester United. Beckham eventually left for Real Madrid. @dolawanle will remember that episode vividly! That is one reason Ferguson remains my greatest manager. No player should become bigger than the manager, and no manager should become bigger than the institution. Sacking Carrick will not automatically solve United’s problems. Sometimes, the rot is not in the dugout but in the dressing room. And one more thing: Manchester United must stop confusing individual recognition with collective achievement. I question whether celebrating Bruno Fernandes with another Player of the Season award sends the right message when the team is struggling. Individual brilliance matters, but football remains a team sport. Awards should never become substitutes for collective accountability. Build a culture. Back the manager. Demand discipline. Restore the institution. You cannot rebuild a great football club by pressing the reset button every few months. May Manchester United succeed. It is working…

Is this what passes for historical scholarship now? Does this gentleman understand that Yoruba history does not begin with Odùduwà, and that the name by which a people are known today does not necessarily mark the beginning of their civilisation? Does he understand that Ilé-Ifẹ̀ possesses a rich archaeological heritage, while Ifá preserves an extraordinary body of indigenous knowledge, philosophy, cosmology and historical memory through its 256 Odù? The origins of peoples and civilisations deserve serious investigation through archaeology, linguistics, oral traditions and historical evidence, not sensational claims dressed up as scholarship. You cannot establish that one people stole another people’s civilisation simply by repeating the accusation loudly enough. And here is my question: Must your understanding of your own cultural greatness always depend on claiming that another people stole it from you? The Igbo possess a remarkable history and intellectual heritage. So do the Yoruba. Neither civilisation needs to be diminished for the other to be celebrated. History is not a competition in ethnic resentment. It is a discipline of evidence. This kind of historical distortion is deeply concerning! It is infuriating, in fact. It is working…
You obviously haven’t seen this 😂😂

No matter what prayer you pray for Man United. The fans don't say amen. Even if you genuineky love them. They want to be better than Arsenal. I think they were, and I think seasons change. No one will rule forever. But when it's your turn to rule or reign, be magnanimous. Carry others along. It sweetens my day when Arsenal finish first, and Man United isn't far behind. When they are eventually on top, I pray Arsenal will always be there. Currently 2-0 down, but it's not impossible to come back and even win it. But will they say, Amen? It is working...

When the Lord turn the captivity of Arsenal, we are like those who dream. Then our mouths are filled with laughter. Our “wifis” - Man United and Chelsea shall say: the Lord has blessed them indeed. My BP is now below 118/78/64. COYG. It is working...

The man is always bitter towards his Lagos hosts, though he grew up in Lagos. This is very incorrect. Before Tinubu, Lagos had 7 million people. Because of his leadership, the Land Use Act, the revenue explosion, creating several agencies and rehabilitating roads, by the time he left office, Lagos had over 11,000,000 people. In the Lagos of the 80s/90s, we picked up dead bodies on the road nearly every day. Armed robbers wrote when they would visit you, and no one could do anything about it. In the Lagos of the 80s/90s, who could find N150,000,000 to buy a house? Today, units sell for 400m in Ikate, and people are buying. Each time I listen to this man, he dislikes the current administration, or perhaps he envies the tribe. He is hardly ever objective. Is it not the same Lagos of the 1990s, when armed robbers like Shina Rambow would enter an entire market like Daleko, where my mum had shops, and ransack the entire market, raid for hours, and no one could intervene? We watched live in terror, beside my school. The Lagos of the 80s: we had an epidemic of kidnappers, “gbomogbomo “, children were stolen with ease. Whether it is Lagos, Paris, London or New York! Every major city in the world evolves. Not necessarily worse or better. Things are done differently. Lagos today is much more livable than the Lagos I was born in, in the 70s. 100% better.
