It's really that simple, they didn’t expect so many people to rally behind this young boy like that, there's definitely some envy involved. I’m glad people are finally realizing that black immigrants are fully capable of raising our voices when the moment demands it, one thing you can always count on with Ghanaians is that we will stand firmly behind our own. The killing of children should never be treated as normal, no child should ever die before their parent, yet American culture has grown so desensitized to death that a powerful, collective outcry over the horrific death of an innocent child can strike some people as strange or excessive, as if such grief is somehow out of place, it's not. Not all of us have surrendered our humanity, not all of us have lost the capacity for genuine compassion. Death may be an everyday occurrence, but we refuse to let ourselves be swallowed by that numbness.

I cannot understand why this news is being trivialized like this. We have no information on the race or ethnicity of the bullies. This is a much larger conversation about American youth gun violence and inadequate responses to bullying. Why do children have access to GUNS?????
