"same-ballot WAR" for Dem senate candidates -- how each candidate did, compared to other Democrats on the ballot in the same precincts and counties
Congrats to Jim on finishing this project! I only agreed with him perfectly on the Spurs (mostly because I'm less rigid about positions), but I enjoyed following this every day for the last few weeks.
Here are my picks for each team.
To kickoff the 2026-2027 NBA season, the all-time starting five for every team + a 6th man.
Washington Wizards:
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Phil Chenier
SF: Bob Dandridge
PF: Elvin Hayes
C: Wes Unseld
6th Man: Mitch Kupchak
Toughest Call: John Wall or Arenas at PG
Note: The 6th man could not start more than 50% of games with team
A vote for Abdul el-Sayed is an endorsement of the most antisemitic senatorial campaign in my lifetime. A vote for Mike Rogers is an endorsement of the most Islamophobic senatorial campaign.
Please show grace to Michigan voters forced with the awful choice of no good choice.

Itβs impossible to construct any standard of behavior toward religious minorities that El-Sayed fails but Rogers passes. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1β¦
Letβs be clear about something.
El-Sayed chose to bring Hasan Piker into the Democratic primary for a critical swing-state senate race. He chose to tie himself to and elevate one of the most noxious, bigoted, divisive figures he possibly could. He campaigned with him five times. He spent election night of the primary at an βinfluencerβ pool party with the guy. He set the tone for this entire campaign.
Since then, El-Sayed has been given ample opportunity to disavow Piker, to address the concerns of Jewish Dems, and to bring the party together. Heβs rejected almost every single one. More often, heβs dug in and doubled down β as heβs doing now.
Christ, the man canβt even condemn an βitβs Jews making your groceries expensiveβ ad.
Thereβs one person and person alone whoβs responsible for dividing Democrats and injecting groyper-style noxiousness into Michigan Democratic politics. His name is Abdul El-Sayed.

If you're trying to understand why so many Michigan Jewish Democrats are defecting, I wrote in August about it. It's not, per se, about foreign policy. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0β¦
Great and important episode of @LastWeekTonight on Sunday on what the racist right-wing streamers are doing with the Republican party.
Now do it for Hasan Piker, Cenk Uygur and the other racist left-wing streamers doing the same to some Democrats.
Actually, all the enemies of Israel want Bibi to win, because him and his government of extremists and racists best serves their interest in demonizing and isolating Israel. We don't know what a Bibi-less government will bring, but it won't be worse.

Michigan is not Midwest at all. It's literally *Eastern* Time Zone. Michigan can hang out with Ohio and Western PA in its own region. Can't call it the Mideast, because that name exists, but you can call it Great Lakes or Rust Belt, but Midwest it ain't.

LeBron needs 75 assists this year to catch Jason Kidd for 3rd all time and 536 to catch Chris Paul for 2nd all time. (He had 432 last year, but 575 and 589 the previous two years.)
He needs 28 steals to catch Gary Payton for 5th all time and 97 to catch Michael Jordan for 4th.
