Having an EBD or ODD child not able to self regulate in a general education class is educational malpractice. Need the parents of the non-disabled child to scream until it’s dealt with.

Last year while, helping out with a Bible class, I found out about Oppositional Defiant Disorder where a child is apparently incapable of obeying any kind of instruction. They will distract an entire classroom and you have to let them stand or give them food to calm them down.

Yes, your child does act like that at home. The difference? You don’t have 25 others getting interrupted by it.

Stop making school teachers deliver mental health care. SEL is mental health care. PBIS is mental health care.

Parents, can you please indoctrinate your kids to be kind, respectful, honest, curious and hard working? Thanks.

CHALLENGES THEY WANT TEACHERS TO IGNORE
•Class Size
•Lack of student sleep, physical exercise & proper nutrition
•Lack of parental involvement
•Student misbehaviors
•Thinking schools should be the solution to EVERY challenge students face
•Our pitifully low salaries

If the parents of every other student in the room really knew how much of the teachers time and attention went to those 2-3 students - they would be outraged and making demands.
