Make no mistake, river otters are the apex predators of this wetland. This mallard duck had no idea how close it was to becoming a meal. Check out the slowed down footage, you'll see the moment the otter decides to go for the strike only to mistime it by a fraction of a second.
Young bighorn ram at Logan Pass makes a move on a female (known as ewes). Another ram shuts it down immediately. Just a swift reminder of where he stands in the pecking order among the herd. Filmed at Glacier National Park!
We do a little landscape photography around here too!
Kintla Lake sits in one of the most remote corners of Glacier National Park. No development upstream, glacial meltwater, Precambrian bedrock that barely dissolves. The result is water so clear it looks surreal.
Guys, I found a female wolf spider carrying spiderlings! How cool is this! Photo taken with my Google Pixel. If only I had a macro lens!
It's so impressive how well bighorn sheep can blend in with the rocky mountainside if you're not looking hard enough.
I, for one, am thrilled my hero Jeremy Wade is back to continue River Monsters, one of my favorite shows I grew up on. Next up: whales? The Loch Ness Monster? Cthulhu himself?
No Montana trip is complete without bison. Watch this young bull work a rub tree. Bison rub for a few reasons: scent marking, horn conditioning, and parasite relief. Whatever his reason, he meant business.
Whoa I didn't even realize I'm at 39K and might hit 40K followers soon. That's WILD! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd have this many folks follow me. I'm honored! Thanks for being so supportive!
Looks like ๐ really wants me to keep posting vertical videos. I already did one for today and you still haven't included my last three towards the Video Kickstart tally ๐
Imagine my reaction watching this bighorn sheep just yeet off a cliff. Don't worry, there was a meadow on the other side it landed in.
One of my favorite things about these type of animal rescues is how the animal just seems to cooperate and allow the rescuer to clip or cut around them. It's like they know based off the energy they bring! It's my headcanon and I'm sticking with it.
๐จ-- VOLUME ALERT-- Loud moose ahead!
This week in Idaho, Deputy Frantz with the Latah County Sheriffโs Office got a welfare check call on a juvenile moose that had gotten itself tangled up in some wire.
Bodycam shows him calmly talking the young bull through itโโHold onโฆ couple more clips, budโโwhile cutting him free.
Moose stayed remarkably still once he realized help was there, then took off.
Safe, sound, and a belly full of apples. ๐ซ
Well done, Deputy Frantz.๐
โWhatโs the best โofficer helps animalโ story youโve seen?
Another look at the king of the mountain. Not as dramatic as the tight crop, but still a portrait Iโm proud of. Still can't believe I had this bighorn ram all to myself on my hike to Hidden Lake, Glacier National Park.
Shot on my Panasonic @LUMIX_Japan / @LumixUSA S1RII with the @Sigma_Japan 150-600mm Sports telephoto lens.
Obviously not the world's greatest photos but I wanted to capture something to document the moment and give you guys a sense of epic scale that is Glacier National Park.
A massive grizzly sow with her two cubs foraging along the mountainside of Mt Henkel. Roughly two miles out.
