I unfold my Duo approximately 6 to 10 times a day. Mostly just leave it unfolded at my desk. Really disappointed in Apple here, 75,000 folds means only 20 years before my screen fails. Unacceptable!
Game over.

This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax. - 100-500× faster than mermaid.js - 6× smaller bundle - No dependencies - Easy to theme - Responsive to device width In pursuit of making Obsidian insanely fast and cohesively designed, I always found the Mermaid library to be too big, too slow, and too hard to theme. Pele will be the new renderer in the next version of Obsidian, but you can start using it now. Pele [ˈpɛlɛ] is named after the goddess of volcanoes and fire. It's open source under the MIT license. Try the playground!

Introducing Graphical. It's a simple, powerful, and fun tool to design visual languages, style components, and work with coding agents to create interfaces that look memorable and feel unique. I hope you'll check it out at graphicalui.com!

🚨 New on @digg today: Sometimes the same stories can appear in different topics (albeit with different takes), which means that scrolling can feel duplicative. Home can now consolidate cross-topic stories. Expand to see where else it appears. You're welcome!

I've been using Jev for all kinds of things. This morning I had a realization I kind of like: Use it to make non-black-box embeddings. Instead of an embedding model spitting out 1,536 numbers that mean nothing, you ask Jev questions about each document. The answers become the vector. An email in Cora: "I got charged twice this month, pls fix asap" [is_customer, urgent, about_billing, needs_reply] [1.0, 0.9, 1.0, 1.0] A newsletter: [0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.1] A friend asking about lunch: [0.0, 0.1, 0.0, 0.7] Then it's just old-school cosine similarity search. Search "billing issues from customers" as [1, 0.5, 1, 0.5] and the double charge comes out on top. Same idea for our articles at Every: [is_tutorial, about_ai, contrarian, beginner_friendly] Or support tickets: [is_bug, angry, churn_risk, enterprise] Every number has a name, so you can see why something matched. Need a new dimension? Add a question. Want urgent stuff first? Change the query vector. Trying this in @CoraComputer now to make search fast.

fact: there is very coordinated, well-funded operation behind the ‘10% chance AI kills us all’ rhetoric

Google needs to buy Instinct, they need that product DNA, Notebook isn't going to cut it. Instinct, Muse, Grok Bot, etc., are social ai. I've seen this play out before... I was at Google+ for 3-months running mobile, I tried buy instagram but I was two steps down from Larry, so I didn't have the pull (Kevin had told me Zuck was sniffing around), my SVP said it was 'too expensive.'.. killed me. I bounced to Google Ventures.

Two reports from @SamLyman33 and @bitcoinpolicy document a coordinated foreign influence campaign against American AI — running through CCP state media, a Shanghai-based Marxist's nonprofit network, and foreign billionaire dark money that has funneled $2B+ into US advocacy infrastructure. AI doomerism isn't as organic as it looks.

Launching Copper, a Mac app for capturing things you want to keep and prompts you want to try next while working with AI. The more I use AI, the more I find myself collecting little things I don't want to lose. You're in ChatGPT and think, "I'll need this later," but you don't want to stop what you're doing. Then you're in Claude. Cursor. Chrome. Back to ChatGPT. Before long, you've got little things scattered everywhere. An answer you want to keep. A link. An idea. Or three follow-up prompts before the current one has even finished generating. I had this problem, so I built Copper. Copper combines the useful parts of a to-do list, a clipboard, and a scratchpad. It's built specifically for AI-assisted work. It sits next to where you work and is always one shortcut away. It works with all your AI apps, terminals and browsers. Whenever I find something worth keeping, I capture it. If I think of a few prompts while the AI is still responding, I type them into Copper. Then I send them back into ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor and check them off as I go. Copper is local and private. It doesn't sync anything, doesn't collect anything, and doesn't need an account. I've used Copper every day for the past few months. It has completely changed how I work. If this feels like something you'd use, it's $39. One-time purchase.

100% We are all engineering managers now Strategists, not tacticians
Building software by prompting agents without ever reading or editing the code directly isn't actually a new thing. It's just called being an engineering *manager*. We have decades of experience about how to be effective as engineering managers. It is a different skill, though.
