I had a terrible amount of prototype-era crap in Tether's game logic, now everything that can be state machine is (using xstate), so I can make pretty visualisations and encode rules more easily and stop making a mess #gamedev

FIVE CENTS PER GIGABYTE. Lollercoaster. nitter.gq/unusual_whales/status/… (The entire cost of a gigabyte of data in the USA is 1/100 that amount...)
BREAKING: France just voted to tax the internet. French lawmakers approved a tax of €0.055 (5.5 cents) for every gigabyte of data that companies like Netflix and YouTube send to French users. It’s a tax on the companies, not users directly, but the cost could get passed on to subscribers. The vote was 11 to 10, with only 35 of 577 lawmakers present. Supporters say it could raise up to €10 billion a year. The French government opposed it, warning it would hit smaller French companies hardest; VLC says it would cost it over €1 million a year.

This amendment to France's 2027 budget bill was narrowly adopted 11-10 in the National Assembly (35 voters present) but is not yet law, faces government opposition, and must still clear further Assembly/Senate steps. assemblee-nationale.fr/dyn/17/comptes… assemblee-nationale.fr/dyn/17/amendem… capital.fr/economie-polit… stephanelarue.com/taxe-au-gigaoc…

With my site approaching 7TB of monthly data transfer, I've had to take action. Download links are now signed to prevent direct hotlinking. No changes for you! Please link to my website instead of directly to files. That way, I at least get a chance to ask for a donation.

Let me put my TypeScript hat back on for a minute Content mappers look outrageously exciting. This is now possible: 1. import any non-TypeScript file (markdown, vue, svelte) 2. Write a content mapper to extract types from it 3. Run tsc with --runExternalCode 4. You get type inference from NON TYPESCRIPT CODE The simplest case: 1. Import a markdown file 2. Add a bit of config to tsconfig.json 3. Run tsc with --runExternalCode 4. Get fully typed markdown frontmatter Unbelievably useful, a dreamland for tinkerers
TypeScript 7.1 Beta is now available! Now with a preview API, content mapper support, new features, and some great optimizations. Give it a try and give us some feedback! devblogs.microsoft.com/types…

ah nice good luck patching your infra against 1500 tok/s hacking your shitty 2008 backend
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 runs at 1,521+ tok/s on Fireworks Ultrafast. Fast enough to ship Tetris in 11 seconds, 7x faster than Claude Opus 5.5. Join the Ultrafast waitlist: bit.ly/3UA0wKq
