Can anyone recommend any private ADHD assessment providers in the UK at all? A friend is really struggling with the NHS referral wait and wants a credible assessment their GP might recognise #ADHD

This guy. I've found him far too late. Everything he says describes my investigation into myself in 2013-16. I need to kick-start treatment again as meds alone aren't helping with my life. They work well for my 9-5 job yes, but life outside that? Help!! youtu.be/lSjHYiTEA4M

We’re 22 pages into it & it’s REALLY good! And it’s a #Sitcom #mini #series #script Plus, it’s not ALL about #ADHD it’s including #neurodiverdity & #mentalhealth Everyone involved so far has the same objective. @rorybremner @ADHDFoundation @ADHD_Jo27 @adhd_dan @dmaudsley

Classic NHS letter received today from the National Adult ADHD service. To summarise... We found your referral from 2016. Sorry we lost it, do you have a local adult service now or do you still need it? Why do we have all these separated trusts and services?

I mean surely it would all work and integrate better as one org with regional offices/clinics? Wouldn't funding be easier and less divided with admin costs layered in one place than everywhere?

This is not a dig at the NHS or any of the crazily hard working staff by the way!!! Just through my experiences it all seems a little lost amongst itself organisation wise

"You wouldn't need ADHD meds if we weren't living in a capitalist hellscape." What if I told you that I also have trouble initiating things that I LIKE to do?

This is me for the last 2 years at least. Progressively gsther8mg clutter inside and outside the mind currently... need a sort out!
If I’m feeling scattered, it’s usually because I’m trying to do too much at the same time, which often happens when there’s no clear order for me to do things in. I save a lot of time and mental energy if I decide on an order then do them one (sometimes two) at a time. #ADHD
Not exactly how I planned to spend this afternoon... no one hurt thankfully. Cue sitting on the phone tomorrow discussing finger pointing for insurers ☹

When impostor syndrome tells me “you don’t belong here” I’m learning to reply with “so what? I *am* here and I’m going to make the most of it.”

If you have an employee with #ADHD, that employee will likely perform MUCH better with accommodations. After all, they wouldn’t be diagnosed with ADHD if they didn’t have impairments your neurotypical employees don’t have. Askjan.org is a great place to find some
