This year my connection with 15th August feels deeper, thanks to @EmpirePodUK, @tweeter_anita and @DalrympleWill. The stories of what brought us here are riveting. And us Indians, too, have to face the mirror. Vande Mataram.

On a team call, @KavishSarawgi mentioned how this phrase is running in this mind - Chief Financial and Focus Officer. I loved it.

In India, we have a 'party in power'. In the States, they have 'an administration'. power is alienating. Collaboration is the need of the hour esp about the environmental issues we heard about. Can the States & the centre work 2gether for India #DemocracyAdda #YKASummit

Town planning. Gender budget. Sexuality. Safety. Access. Nope - not a law. But things one needs work with just to build safe urinals for women. Thanks for enlightening us, Mumtaz Shaikh.
18 year old Saleeha Khan schooling us all right. A confident, passionate voice from Govandi talks about menstrual hygiene, education, and caring about things we usually ignore. Reading and learning are so, so crucial to lead a full life. #CreatingANationOfReaders @S2MTweets
Privilege is not equal to entitlement. Words of wisdom from @konkonas at the #YKASummit

Women in Journalism panel talks about weird market surveys that have apparently shown that millennial women are more interested in 'near news' than actual news. I say these surveys are near bullshit. #WomenKnowTheirShit #dontinfantalise #YKASummit

Deeply shocking to know that a woman in a village in Rajasthan was beaten up just for buying a contraceptive. UNICEF, Priya Dr Sunil talk about the need for the message of ending child marriage going rural. Rural, not viral.
I read a book some time ago called Women Who Read are Dangerous. Reading allows us to make powerful choices. Hearing #IqraRasool 's story of being the first woman cricketer - this is reinforced. Women who do what they want are powerful. @S2MTweets #YKASummit #ReadPlayGo

Incredible panel on the MTP act, consent and the legal language of choice and empowerment.
Was excited to hear @shubzsharma of @afforestt at the #YKASummit and here he is! My partner @Shrenikgada is a ardent lover of trees and a constant gardener. Lots to learn!
Beena Pallical's master class on caste and privilege. As someone #CreatingANationOfReaders it's painful to know how children are not allowed to learn in the same environments as others because of caste. The more you read, the more absurd you know this is.
